Sylvester Stallone issues public apology for ‘cowardly’ way he broke up with his wife that fans won’t believe
The Rocky star has admitted he regrets how he handled the break-up of his marriage
Sylvester Stallone, the star of the Rocky movie franchise, has opened up about a trying period in his long relationship with wife Jennifer Flavin.
Speaking alongside Flavin to Sean Hannity for the inaugural episode of Fox Nation’s new long-form interview show Sean, the 78-year-old explained that he once attempted to break off their romance via FedEx.
It was 1994 and, after being together for six years, the on-screen boxing icon decided to call time on their relationship in a manner he would label “cowardly”.
“That’s the most insincere breakup you can get,” he said, before adding that he was a “coward” for doing that. “You put it down in words ‘cause you don’t have the guts to do it face to face.”

Speaking during a 1994 interview with PEOPLE, Flavin had previously explained how the break-up had happened.
“He sent me a six-page handwritten letter, in pen. It was pretty sloppy,” she said. “You can’t just write somebody off in a letter after six years. It’s not like I was going to try to beg him to come back to me or anything. I just wanted to talk.”
It soon transpired the Stallone had been having an affair with supermodel Janice Dickinson.
But this turbulent time in their relationship was not the end for Flavin and the Rambo star. The pair reconciled a year later and married in 1997.

They have remained married ever since. In 2022, Flavin filed for divorce in a Florida court. However, shortly after the divorce papers were issued, Stallone and the former model reconciled decided against breaking up.
In May last year, Stallone posted a picture of their London wedding on Instagram to celebrate their 27th anniversary.
“27 years with the love of my life,” he captioned the post. “I love you,” Flavin wrote in the comments. “Forever us!”
