Mike Tyson causes huge concern with sparring performance ahead of Jake Paul fight

The 58-year-old has worried fans after posting his latest training footage.

Mike Tyson has worried fans after posting new training footage ahead of his fight with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul next month.

In just three weeks, the highly anticipated boxing fight between former heavyweight champion Tyson and controversial YouTube star Paul gets underway in the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The fight was initially scheduled to take place on July 20 but was postponed after the 58-year-old boxer was forced to stop training due to an ulcer flare up.

And now, new training footage released by Tyson has gone viral, and it has got fans online seriously concerned about the fight.

The footage shows Tyson using a powerful left hook to drop a sparring partner as he approaches the final days of his preparation for the bout with Paul.

And, while initially fans were extremely concerned for the former champion’s safety in the fight given the age gap between him and Paul, they now fear for the YouTuber after seeing how impressive Tyson still looks.

Reacting to the footage on social media, one fan admitted that they feared for Paul, writing: “I’m telling you, if this powerhouse Tyson stays in close, Jake Paul is going to be one hurting unit.”

Another agreed, adding: “I was going to say that it’ll be very embarrassing to get knocked out by a 58 year old, but It is Mike Tyson we’re talking about, right?”

While one simply posted: “Jake Paul 1997-2024”

After brutally dropping his opponent, Tyson’s head coach Rafael Cordeiro quickly steps in to stop the session as his fighter clearly looks like he is ready to unleash more punishment on his training partner.

“That’s good for today,” Cordeiro said to Tyson.

But the boxer was eager for more, stating: “Are you f***** sure? Are you f****** sure? I have a lot in me. I’m just getting started.”

‘Iron Mike’ is of course infamous for the brutal fighting style that saw him hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF heavyweight belts at the same time.

Tyson v Paul will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix, with an undisputed super lightweight title fight between Irish superstar Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano and the return of former British UFC fighter Darren Till on the undercard.
