Daniel Dubois Tells Anthony Joshua “It’s My Time” As “Insane” Training Routine Is Revealed
In the lead-up to one of the most anticipated heavyweight showdowns of the year, Daniel Dubois has made his intentions clear: it’s his time to shine. The 26-year-old, known as ‘Dynamite,’ is set to face off against former three-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium on September 21. This high-stakes bout will see Dubois defend his IBF world title for the first time.
Although Joshua enters the ring as the favorite, Dubois insists he’s ready to upset his rival’s plans. “I can’t wait, it’s all written in the stars for me, and I have to hold on to my belt,” Dubois told talkSPORT during a recent interview. “I want to put on a show that no one will forget.”
Dubois’ confidence has been steadily growing, bolstered by his intense and “insane” training regimen, which includes a unique daily ritual. According to talkSPORT pundit Spencer Oliver, Dubois has been preparing both physically and mentally by spending an hour each day staring at Wembley Stadium’s iconic arches. “It’s beautiful to see. He stands there and just stares at it for about an hour. It’s insane,” said Oliver, emphasizing the 26-year-old’s focus and dedication.
Dubois’ quiet demeanor in the gym is equally telling of his resolve. “He walks in, doesn’t say a word, fist bumps a couple of people, and gets to work. He doesn’t talk much, but you can feel the intensity,” Oliver added.
Tensions between the two fighters have been high, with Dubois engaging in trash talk during their behind-the-scenes encounters—something unusual for the typically reserved boxer. This new aggressive attitude signals Dubois’ determination to rise above Joshua and stake his claim as the future of British heavyweight boxing.
A victory over Joshua could catapult Dubois into even greater opportunities, including a potential megafight with the winner of the 2025 Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson Fury rematch. For now, though, all eyes are on the upcoming bout, where Dubois is ready to make his mark.
“It’s my time to steal the show and reign for a long time,” Dubois declared. “I’m ready to fight on the night and ready to hear that first bell.”
As the world watches, Wembley will once again be the stage for a defining moment in heavyweight boxing, with Daniel Dubois determined to emerge victorious.
