Maura Higgins’ mum left shocked by her daughter’s I’m A Celebrity sex-life confession

Maura Higgins’ mum Sharon opened up about her daughter’s I’m A Celebrity revelation that the two of them talk about her sex life – as she also touches upon her rumoured boyfriend Pete Wicks

Maura Higgins’ mum has opened up about her own starring role on I’m A Celebrity – after her daughter revealed she confides in her about her sex life.

Sharon, 55, also told how she was left shocked by some of her daughter’s most-jaw dropping stories – including how she took revenge on an ex.

Speaking on Monday’s show, Maura confided in GK Barry that she tells her mum everything about her love-life, adding: “and if I slept with a guy, my mum will ask me, ‘Well, what was he like in the bed?’ and she will get every gory detail.”

But Sharon was quick to say it was the other war around, with Maura always telling her too much information against her wishes.

She explained: “I would say to her on Facetime, ‘is everything okay? Are you happy in all aspects of your relationship?’ And she would always try and embarrass me by saying this, that and the other and I would say: ‘too much information. I don’t need to know, I don’t need to know.’ She likes to make me embarrassed.”

But she said she was delighted that her daughter felt able to open up in the jungle.

She added: “I think Maura is always going to be Maura. She’s obviously comfortable in her surroundings, with the people she’s with, and she feels free to be able to chat about anything.”

Maura has previously spoken about how after discovering an ex was cheating on her before she went on Love Island, she scrubbed the loo with a toothbrush.

And proud Sharon laughed: “I can’t believe she told that story on National TV but that just tells you anyone that dates her to watch out. You don’t cross Maura.”

Maura also opened up about Strictly star Pete Wicks, who she has been seen kissing at various events in the last year.

She said on the show how she hated being asked if she was dating him, telling GK Barry: “I’m single. People can date and not be in a relationship and take things slow.”

As GK explained she tried to keep her relationship with her girlfriend Ella under wraps, Maura said of her and Pete: “Well we’ve already been papped, tongues down each other’s necks and we had no idea!”

Sharon confirmed that Maura has spoken to her about Pete but only to say that they were “good friends.”

She added: “Well, I think she has clarified that herself, like all I know is what she has told me, which is that they’re good friends, and she supports her friends, just like they support her, which is, you know, it’s a lovely thing. She’s on the dating scene. That’s all she has told me. So that’s all I can go by.”

But asked if she was watching Strictly in which Pete is competing, she said: “Absolutely not. I’ve never watched Strictly. I don’t watch it. I’ve never had interest in it. It’s not a show I’ve ever watched.”
