After months of anticipation of seeing Mike Tyson and Jake Paul in the boxing ring, it turned out to be a complete dud as Tyson barely threw any punches and bit his gloves more than anything throughout the bout.

Despite Iron Mike’s fans hoping for an explosive knockout and return to form, the 58-year-old showed that Father Time had won.

Following the bout, many claimed that the entire thing was rigged, but nobody had any concrete evidence.

Enter Michael Irvin.

On the latest episode of It Is What It Is, the three-time Super Bowl champion spoke on the highly-publicized fight that ended with Paul defeating Tyson by unanimous decision.

Irvin revealed that the fight was indeed rigged because the contract contained a clause stating that Mike Tyson couldn’t go all out.

“They had no intentions to really scrap at all,” said Irvin. “If you look through that, I didn’t see one patented uppercut by Mike Tyson. What if Mike Tyson hit him with an uppercut? Then I heard some people talking about they put that in the contract. He couldn’t body and then uppercut. Like, how can you put that in a fight contract?”

He continued, “You got all these people out here, and he couldn’t body him and do that patented uppercut. All of that is Mike Tyson is not Mike Tyson anyway, and now you taking away Mike Tyson’s best gift, which was that uppercut. Man, that’s a big lie to me. That’s like making me play a game without running a slant route in the deep end or the deep out. You do what you do best. If they take that away you not that dude anymore, and they took that away.”

Irvin wasn’t the only one stating this as DJ Whoo Kid said he heard something similar regarding the fight contract.

According to him, both fighters could legally not hit each other.

Mike Tyson Landed A Very Little Amount of Punches Against Jake Paul

The highly anticipated fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul wrapped up in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium last Friday night, and everyone watching was upset at what they had just witnessed.

Paul took down Iron Mike in the sanctioned boxing match by unanimous decision.

Mike had the history, but in the end, the 58-year-old couldn’t keep up with his 27-year-old opponent. The Problem Child won with scorecards of 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73.

To make matters worse, Mike Tyson simply did not throw or land many punches.

Paul landed 78 of 278 total punches and connected on 31 of 179 jabs, per CompuBox.

On the other hand, Tyson landed 18 of his 97 total punches to go along with five of 62 jabs.
