I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans turned on Dean McCullough for a “lie” he told to the show hosts.

Highlights on Sunday night saw 33-year-old radio star Dean pair with 38-year-old WAG Coleen Rooney to take part in one of the gruesome trials on the long-running ITV reality show. The trial saw Dean left to rummage through buckets and barrels of fish guts and animal parts to find mechanic tools.

While Dean was dashing around trying to find the parts, Coleen was laying in the back of a truck, ready to unlock various stars with whatever tools Dean could find. However, the mum-of-four was not alone in the truck – as she found herself covered in crickets, cockroaches, mealworms, rats and more.

While Coleen remained steely and focused, Dean screamed hysterically as he was coated in more fish guts and sludge liquids when he sat in the front of the truck to search for more tools. In the end, he and Coleen managed to unlock nine stars for the camp – which was a big improvement on other trials of the season.

But during the debrief with Ant and Dec, where the hosts congratulated Dean on doing better than in previous trials, viewers were left gobsmacked when Dean quipped: “I’m a fighter, not a quitter.” The radio star has thus far shouted ” I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here” to excuse himself from two trials – so many accused him of lying about not being a quitter.

Fans took to X to slate the star, with one writing: “’I’m not a quitter’… Dean, you’ve quit twice in the space of a week, don’t lie #ImACeleb.” Another wrote: “Dean said ‘I’m not a quitter I’m a fighter’ … yes you are a quitter and you were scared of fish guts, I really wish he was in the back of the trailer #ImACeleb.”

Another shared a shocked face GIF and wrote: “‘i’m not a quitter’ everyone after dean quit most of his trials #ImACeleb.” And another wrote: “What was that noise? Oh it was just half of the country snorting when Dean said that he’s not a quitter #ImACeleb.”

Elsewhere in the episode, viewers were stunned to hear Maura once got revenge on a boyfriend who she discovered had been texting other women by filming herself using his toothbrush for some very specific household cleaning. She revealed: “I had a plan and no word of a lie, when he went to the gym the next day I got his toothbrush and I filmed myself scrubbing in the verges [of the toilet], he had a dentist appointment that day!”

She added: “I considered taking a dump on it.” Her fellow campmates were stunned by her confession – and Danny exclaimed: “You don’t wanna mess with Maura!”
