Tyson Fury makes brutally honest admission ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight and it will worry fans

Tyson Fury made a honest admission about why he is rematching Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

Tyson Fury has admitted there is one key reason for why he is fighting Oleksandr Usyk for a second time.

Fury takes on Usyk in a monumental unified heavyweight championship rematch in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night. with the WBA, WBC and WBO world heavyweight titles on the line.

The Gypsy King lost for the first time in his professional career in the first bout back in May, with Usyk prevailing via a split decision on the judges’ scorecards.

He pocketed around £100 million from the superfight and is set to earn big again from the second showdown – even though he is due a lesser percentage as the challenger.

But while he has the chance to become a three-time world champion, Fury is adamant that as a prize-fighter – his main motivation is his bank account and achieving generational wealth.

“The legacy is my kids, isn’t it?” Fury said ahead of the fight.

“The one thing I do care about is my family, my kids, looking after them. [This is for] more generational wealth.

“I’m only doing it for the money, obviously. All prize-fighters, if they tell the truth, do it for the money. I don’t want to work for f*** all, I want to earn as much as I can get.

“I want the easiest fights possible for the largest amounts of money. I don’t want the toughest fights possible for the least amount. I wasn’t born on a Christmas cracker.”

Fury was ringside in September to watch Brit rival Anthony Joshua get knocked out by IBF champion Daniel Dubois and in reacting to the outcome, was caught on camera commenting, that’s cost me £150 million, the silly c***”.

The 36-year-old was asked if he meant the remark and stressed that while he did, he still feels as though there is huge interest in seeing him and Joshua mix it up despite ‘AJ’s career entering a downwards spiral.

He explained: “Of course I did. We would have had a two-fight deal lined up for a s*** ton of money. Unfortunately doors open, doors close. “Does it really matter if he has another loss or not? It doesn’t matter. It’s still a big fight.

“Even if he goes in against Dubois and he gets knocked out again – which he would – that doesn’t mean it’s a s*** fight now. It’s still a great fight. It’s a great fight that we all want to see.”
