HE Turki Alalshikh Mocks Canelo Alvarez For ‘Looking For Easier Fights’ After Turning Down Superfights With Terence Crawford And Benavidez

“I’m Not the One Who Is Afraid of Fighting Benavidez or Crawford”: HE Turki Alalshikh Calls Out Canelo Alvarez for Wasting Time With Big $200 Million Demands

“He has to do it my way, not his way,” Canelo Alvarez yelled at Turki Alalshikh in the latest boxing controversy. Canelo has been extremely unhappy with the boxing federation, including Alalshikh, over their approach to him. Alvarez is reportedly looking to face David Benavidez in the near future, but the boxing star has demanded a whopping $200 million for his fight, and Alalshikh doesn’t seem willing to do what Alvarez wants.

Turki Alalshikh has changed the landscape of boxing in recent years and is a big reason why the sport is booming again. However, despite that, Canelo Alvarez has no intention of following his path, and Alalshikh feels the same way. In his latest move, Alalshikh has stepped up to make a strong statement against Alvarez.

In a conversation with the media, Canelo Alvarez explained his reason for asking for $200 million for the Benavidez fight, “Obviously he’s a risk, he’s a great boxer. Plus, he came into the ring 25 lbs heavier than me on the night. It’s a risk but I don’t care. If the money is right, we can fight tomorrow.” However, a $200 million fee would require a huge amount of ticket sales for promoters to make a profit, and Turki Alalshikh knows that.

On his personal page, Alalshikh spoke out to deny Canelo Alvarez’s request, “I heard what Canelo said that he respects me but doesn’t like the way we do business. As for him respecting me, that doesn’t matter to me. As for the way I do business, I know why he doesn’t like it, because I only aim for big fights at reasonable prices, so of course anyone who likes easy fights won’t like that.”

Not stopping there, Alalshikh also questioned Alvarez’s ability as a fighter when he said that ‘Canelo’ is looking for easy fights, “And I know how he felt after losing to Bivol, so he has been looking for easier fights since then. I am not someone who is afraid of fighting Benavidez or Crawford. So I know he is wasting our time and making excuses with big money that he cannot pay. So I will continue my path to make big fights for the boxing world, and he will continue his path with exhibition fights.”
