Coleen Nolan’s chaotic love life as she splits from Michael Jones after three years

Loose Women’s Coleen has made it clear that she’s only interested in friendship from her ex

TV star Coleen Nolan, 59, has recently split from her latest boyfriend, and he’s being relegated to the same camp as her exes.

In February this year, the Loose Women star announced that she’d broken up with Michael Jones. Coleen shared that being work-focused left her with little time to spare on a relationship, but that they parted on good terms.

“We’ve decided that we would rather just stay friends, take it as a friendship,” Coleen said of the end of their relationship, which was sparked on Tinder back in 2021. She added, “It’s nothing to do with anyone else, it’s nobody’s fault. But I’m really busy and when I’m not really busy with work I’m busy on the farm and I feel personally that I can’t give time to everything. We still get along great and hopefully we can continue to be friends, who knows?”

Coleen reiterated her peaceful view of the break up when speaking to OK! this week, and divulged: “We’ve decided that we would rather just stay friends, take it as a friendship. And, you know, it’s nothing to do with anyone else, it’s nobody’s fault. But I’m really busy and when I’m not really busy with work I’m busy on the farm and I feel personally that I can’t give time to everything. We still get along great and hopefully we can continue to be friends, who knows?”

She added: “I’m not going to say it wasn’t sad, because of course it was. But I really hope that once that sadness goes away we can continue to be friends. I don’t regret any of it, it was fabulous. Michael came along at just the right time for me and I think over the last three-and-a-half years we’ve helped each other grow.”

Coleen and Michael broke up a few times during the early days of their romance, but it seems like this time might be for good. Her assertion that they’ll still be pals, however, isn’t unusual. Coleen’s two ex-husbands are two of her best friends. The TV star was married to Shane Richie from 1990 to 1999, and then Ray Fensome from 2007 to 2018. She shares two sons with EastEnders actor Shane, and a younger daughter with Ray.

Coleen counts both of the men as her close confidants, and explained: “I think that comes from age and experience.” The presenter hinted that she’d like to keep the same close but platonic relationship with Michael: “I always choose to focus on the times that were great, not the sad ending. The last two years of both my marriages were probably horrendous, but equally, the 10 years before were fantastic, so I’d rather focus on that,” she said of her marriages.

Beyond her dating life and TV duties, Coleen is more than busy at home. The Lancashire native has bought a farm in Staffordshire with several acres of land, which she runs with her daughter Ciara and Ciara’s fiancé Max. Coleen has made it clear that she’s moving on from her pop star background and is spending her spare time on getting involved in the rural family holding – with little time for dating.
