Eamonn Holmes has suffered another blow after his GB News co-star Isabel Webster was suddenly replaced on the show.
The former This Morning presenter usually hosts the breakfast show with Isabel – who previously worked for Sky and the BBC. Just weeks ago, Isabel and Eamonn, who are close pals off-screen and previously hosted Sky News breakfast show Sunrise together, were celebrating winning ‘best news programme’ at the TRIC Award.
However, Ellie Costello will now take over presenting duties during the working week. And the new lineup, which will come into force in January, is not the only change happening at GB News in the new year. A GB News spokesperson said: “Ellie Costello will now co-host GBN Breakfast five days a week, presenting alongside Eamonn Holmes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and with Stephen Dixon on Thursday and Friday.
“Stephen and Anne Diamond will continue to co-present GB News Breakfast at Weekends.” According to an insider, Eamonn was ‘gutted’ by the news of his ‘TV wife’ being replaced. Eamonn – who announced his split from Ruth Langsford earlier this year – was reportedly ‘blindsided’ by the shocking news.

“It was a real shock to everyone involved. Eamonn’s gutted about it and the fact that he’s been blindsided has made it even worse,” an insider claimed to The Sun. “Isabel’s been a massive source of comfort to him during a terribly difficult year following his separation from Ruth. He’s still reeling from the news.”
The Mirror have reached out to Eamonn’s reps for comment. It’s yet another blow to Eamonn, who will be celebrating his first Christmas without Loose Women star Ruth. Speaking about the shake-up, Ben Briscoe, Head Of Programming and Talent on GB News, said: “2024 has been a truly fantastic year for us.
“Not only are we regularly beating the other established news channels, but we are also making inroads against the big public service broadcaster terrestrial channels. Our initiatives will allow us to build on this success with a renewed focus and ambition.”
Meanwhile, Isabel previously told reporters how she was supporting Eamonn through his split from Ruth Langsford. She said: “I love Ruth and I love Eamonn and I’ve got nothing but love for them. I wish them all the very best – divorce is difficult for anyone. When you’re in the public eye, it’s got to be even more difficult I’ve been in touch with Ruth but you’ll have to ask her about her divorce.”
