ITV teases return of huge TV show You Bet! and launches mammoth casting call

Beloved TV show You Bet! is making a grand return to ITV1, and the bosses are on the hunt for contestants for a full series revival.
The iconic show, which had its heyday between 1988 and 1997 with hosts like Sir Bruce Forsyth, Matthew Kelly, and Darren Day, made a comeback earlier this month with Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern leading two specials.
The first special raked in an impressive 4.1 million viewers. With the second special set to air on Sunday (22.12.24), ITV has greenlit a full series and released a casting call that says: “Are you so skilled at your job you could turn it into a crazy ‘You Bet! ‘ challenge? Could your incredible speed, strength, memory, or even your sense of smell, taste or hearing help you win big?

“No matter how wild or impossible it seems; we want to hear all about the impressive skill you have to offer. So if you think you can turn it into a ‘You Bet! ‘ challenge in a bid to take home a cash prize, apply now!” Touted as ITV’s most significant entertainment launch for the 16-34 demographic since The 1 Per Cent Club in April 2022, You Bet! invites people with unique talents to compete for a cash prize.
Auditions have been open since December 7, 2024, and will close on July 30, 2025. Applicants must be 18 years old or above to participate. The show features a star-studded panel and a live studio audience, who attempt to predict whether contestants will succeed in their challenges.
The celebrity with the most accurate predictions wins £10,000 for their chosen charity, while the lowest scorer faces a penalty. The audience also gets to vote for their favourite contestants, who will take home the same amount. The two special episodes will feature Rob Beckett, Harry Redknapp, Olly Murs, Judi Love, Alison Hammond, Rosie Ramsey, and Mary Earps.
Holly expressed her excitement about being part of the classic game show alongside Stephen Mulhern, saying: “[I am] so excited to be part of this iconic game show with the fabulous Stephen Mulhern.”
Stephen shared his enthusiasm, stating: “I loved ‘You Bet! ‘ as a kid, so I’m very excited to be hosting this with the wonderful Holly Willoughby.” He added: “From the big and spectacular to the unique and unexpected, I can’t wait to see what extraordinary skills the challengers have up their sleeves.”
