Viewers of I’m A Celebrity are predicting a major twist, after hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly dropped a worrying announcement.

The hosts declared there would be “a big surprise” hitting the camp, with all set to be revealed during Wednesday’s show – while Joel Dommett did spill the beans on Unpacked later on. With this, they confirmed there would be no vote-off on Wednesday evening, with the public vote not reopened after Melvin Odoom’s exit from the ITV series on Tuesday night.

Confirming the votes stayed closed and viewers could not vote for the next evictee, Ant and Dec didn’t reveal whether someone would still be leaving the show. They simply teased a surprise and said no more, leaving fans in shock.

Taking to X, fans shared their fears over the news believing something big was on the cards. But some viewers were convinced they’d worked out what was really going on.

There were two key theories, with some fans predicting one campmate was set to make a shocking return to camp just days after leaving. The other big theory was that the vote was closed to the public, as the campmates would have to choose who leaves instead.

Dec had said to viewers: “We are not reopening the vote for tomorrow because we’ve got a massive surprise for them. More will be revealed in tomorrow’s show.”

Taking to X, one fan theorised: “No vote tomorrow because Houdini is returning,” referring to axed contestant Dean McCullough. Another fan predicted: “The twist is definitely either no one’s out (which I doubt) or camp vote but camp vote kinda seems obvious.”

A third fan agreed: “What’s this surprise twist? The campers can vote against each other over the normal public vote.” A fourth fan said: “The big surprise will probably be a free for all head to head and the bottom either go or go up for a quick vote. That’s my prediction anyway.”

Other fans were very worried about it all, with one saying: “No public vote…. what does this mean and should I be scared?” A further comment said: “No vote? I don’t like the sound of this.”

But Joel soon confirmed what was really going on, as the campmates had to battle it out for tokens. Joel announced that whoever won the tokens would be exempt from the next two vote-offs, and would make it to Celebrity Cyclone.

It comes as the hosts left campmates “absolutely shocked” in the latest episode of the ITV jungle series. It was the result of the latest vote-off that aired on Monday night, and featured in Tuesday’s highlights.

Ant and Dec dropped the sad news that Tulisa Contostavlos was out of the show, voted to leave by the public. Tulisa was the third star to leave, following Jane Moore and Dean’s own departures in previous days. Following Tulisa out of the jungle was Melvin on Tuesday.
