KATIE Piper has left fans in ‘disgust’ after sharing her shocking confession.

On an episode of Loose Women last week, the live audience were left gobsmacked by the panellist’s admission.

Alongside Ruth Langsford, 64, Coleen Nolan, 59 and Janet Street-Porter, 77, Katie Piper, 40, revealed that she has “never” cleaned her fridge.

As discussions turned to how often you should clean the kitchen appliance, the mum-of-two shared her confession, which has now been described as a ‘brand new iconic British TV moment’.

Katie said: “I’ve never cleaned my fridge ever.”

To this, Ruth, who has recently ended her 14-year marriage with Eamonn Holmes, questioned: “You’ve never cleaned your fridge…ever?”

In response, Katie, the writer, activist and television presenter, confirmed: “No…Why would I clean my fridge? It’s not dirty.”

Loud gasps could be heard in the studio, with the audience and her fellow panellists clearly taken aback by her claims.

Following this, Coleen then chimed in: “The fridge gets dirty, you get bits of milk and it goes sour.”

To which Ruth advised: “You’re supposed to clean it every month Katie Piper.”

But Katie clearly didn’t see the issue, as she admitted: “Nope. I’ve had my fridge for five years and never cleaned it.”

Janet and Ruth were visibly in shock by her claims, and whilst gagging, Ruth said to the audience: “I’m just going to let you digest that.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted on the official @loosewomenofficial account with the caption ‘Oh Katie Piper… Your chilling confession has left us speechless’, was shared just yesterday, but has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 394,900 views.

But social media users were left totally divided by Katie Piper’s confession – whilst some were horrified and confessed to regularly cleaning their fridge, others admitted that they too don’t clean theirs.

One person said: “No waaaaay! Every week I do mine before I put my food shop in.”

Another added: “I wipe it every day if needed but do it properly before the weekly food shop.”

The household items you’re not cleaning often enough

IF you want to ensure your home is squeaky clean, you’ll need to listen up. Below are the household items you’re forgetting to clean, and how to get them sparkling…

Remote Controls: Wipe with a disinfectant cloth. Use a cotton bud for crevices.

Light Switches: Wipe with a disinfectant wipe. Use a mild soap solution for tough stains.

Door Handles: Clean with an antibacterial spray. Wipe down regularly.

Underneath and Behind Appliances: Vacuum or sweep regularly. Mop with a suitable cleaner.

Shower Curtains and Liners: Wash in the washing machine. Use a bleach solution for stubborn mildew.

Kitchen Sponges and Dishcloths: Microwave damp sponges for one minute. Wash dishcloths in the washing machine.

Computer Keyboards and Mice: Use compressed air to remove debris. Wipe with a disinfectant wipe.

A third commented: “Wow can’t believe she’s never cleaned her fridge!! Mine gets cleaned every week when I’m due to go shopping.”

Whilst one user described Katie’s lack of fridge cleaning as “shocking”, someone else simply said: “That’s very disturbing Katie.”

However, at the same time, one woman confessed: “I’ve lived in my flat for nearly 5 years and I’ve never cleaned my fridge. It’s not dirty. It doesn’t smell. If something spills obviously I’ll clean that but I have never done the whole thing.”

 

A second chimed in: “I’ve had mine for three years and never cleaned it, it doesn’t get visibly dirty.”
