MEGHAN Markle uttered just a one-word response to a text Harry received from Prince William in the wake of the Oprah interview.

It came as the pair faced a wave of scrutiny the morning after the March 2021 bombshell chat with the US talk show legend.

The extraordinary interaction was captured in the sixth instalment of Harry and Meghan’s £88 million Netflix docuseries, released today.

In the clip, Harry can be seen holding his phone up to Meghan to show her the message.

It followed in the moments after Meghan read a statement from Buckingham Palace as The Firm responded to the Oprah interview.

The Duchess reads: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

Meghan then reads from Harry’s phone, saying, “What am I looking at?” before studying the text and simply responding: “Wow.”

It is not clear what Prince William said in the text.

Meghan then tells pal Tyler Perry, who is on the other end of the phone: “H just got a text from his brother.”

Visibly distressed, Harry adds: “I wish I knew what to do.”

“I know. Let’s take a breather. Get some air and then decide,” Meghan replies.

She then gives her husband a hug.

Among claims made in the Oprah interview were that Harry had “conversations” within the royal household about how dark son Archie’s skin might have been before he was born.

Meghan also said she felt “suicidal” during her time in The Firm.

The Palace categorically denied claims made by the duo at the time.
