Nick Jonas, 32, has outraged fans with a post appearing to support Donald Trump’s biggest fan Elon Musk, 53 – and he reportedly has no plans of backtracking.

On Tuesday, former Disney star Nick took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared a photo of Tesla founder Elon. “Take us to the Year 3000,” he wrote alongside the snap. Elon was quick to respond, posting a gif of the Jonas Brothers moving furniture and joking: “My, how the tables have turned!”

Fans were quick to slam Nick for his post about the controversial multi-billionaire, with some also assuming it meant the singer supported Trump. “And just like that…. You ruined everything AGAIN Nicholas,” one person wrote, while another begged his wife Priyanka Chopra: “Is this a Trump post?! @priyankachopra get your man.”

“I know it’s hard for you guys to comprehend but rich people don’t care about us; even Nick Jonas,” another reply read, with a fourth writing, “Tweeting at Elon Musk is definitely a choice.” One particularly angry fan simply wrote: “You’re disgusting.”

According to an insider, Nick isn’t fazed by the outrage against him. “Nick is not going to waver from his post on Elon Musk, nor will he double down, and doesn’t plan on deleting it,” they told the Mail Online. The source added that Nick felt his fans were “taking things a little overboard” in their passionate reactions, and that he planned to just sit and wait for the storm to pass. They shared that Nick thought his post about Elon was “fun and non-drama filled,” and wasn’t going to bother dealing with “trolls.”

“Support or not, Nick was trying to be clever over making some type of statement or announcement of support, but on the internet, you can’t do anything without getting attacked,” they cryptically said about the intention of Nick’s post, adding that he’d already “moved on” from the drama it caused.

Fans were shocked by Nick’s seeming support of Elon due to the Twitter owner’s controversial lifestyle and politics. Most recently, Elon – who has at least 11 children with three different mothers – has reportedly splashed out on a 14,400 square ft compound in Texas just to accommodate them all. Sources claimed the tech inventor envisioned his children living next-door to one another so he could “schedule” time with them efficiently, and is keen for his brood to also spend more quality sibling time together, despite his trans daughter being estranged from him.

According to the New York Times, Elon spent around $35 million (£27.5 million) on two properties to house two of his ex-partners and his kids in. Insiders told the publication that they are conveniently located around a 10-minute walk from a third mansion he regularly stays in.

Alongside getting his huge family in order, Elon has also been dipping into British politics. He’s said to be in talks with Nigel Farage to hand tens of millions of pounds to Reform UK, bankrolling the hard-right party with an unprecedented injection of foreign cash. Farage described his hour-long meeting with him at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort on Monday as “great” and “historic”, saying he and party treasurer Nick Candy had “learned a great deal about the Trump ground game.”
