Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury official fight poster CORRECTED after fans call out major ‘error’

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will go head-to-head on December 21 – with the ‘Gypsy King’ hoping to relinquish his defeat.

Tyson Fury’s fight poster for his bout with Oleksandr Usyk has been corrected after the original copy contained a huge error.

The pair initially fought for the undisputed heavyweight title in May 2024. The Ukrainian came away with the win after putting on a boxing clinic in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The pair are set to go toe-to-toe once again on 21 December 2024. The self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ will look to avenge the loss suffered at the hands of Usyk – Fury had not tasted defeat as a professional prior to their fight.

The build-up to their winter showdown has already begun, and in line with boxing tradition, the fight poster was unveiled on Wednesday evening.

However, fans noticed a huge error on the poster – Fury’s name was printed first.

One fan said: “How on earth’s Fury managed to blag his name first on the poster. Not ranked number one. No belts. Not undefeated, lost already to Usyk.”

A second added: “Wait a minute. Why is Fury’s name 1st on the poster?!”

With a third saying: “Why is fury’s name first? How about the undefeated, true, undisputed champion?”

You may be wondering what the issue was. But traditionally, in boxing, the ‘champion’ – which in this case is Usyk, tends to have their name printed first.

Just hours later, the poster was deleted. A new poster was uploaded. The second poster had Usyk as the first name. Then, below was a list of the undercard bouts.

Fury suffered a large cut just above his eye in the first bout. But recently rubbished any talk that this could be an issue in their second showdown.

“Listen, it was only 12 weeks before I had a 16-stitch cut across my left eye, and that had to heal,” he told TNT Sports Boxing.

“It maybe took seven or eight weeks for the cut to heal up, then another six or seven weeks training, but there’s always a risk of it opening up [in camp] and you lose your big dough.”

“I’m ready to rock and roll. Listen, I don’t need a 12-week camp. I’ve been boxing all my life. I’m ready to go tonight, tomorrow, next weekend. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday. It doesn’t really matter. I can come in the ring at 30 stone and do 15 rounds. I’m a natural at it,” he added.
