The Love Island alum, who was a late entrant to the ITV camp, spoke in detail about finding out her ex had let a secret life behind her back – and how she then made him pay.

It came after The Sun columnist and Loose Women panelist Jane Moore grilled Maura, 33, on how she landed on a spot on the beloved ITV2 dating show back in 2019.

After discovering her former lover’s hidden life on his phone shortly before accepting the reality TV gig, Maura told how she let out her fury.

“I had a plan and no word of a lie, when he went to the gym the next day I got his toothbrush and I filmed myself scrubbing in the verges,” the Glow Up Ireland anchor declared.

Mimicking scrubbing a toilet, she added: “He had a dentist appointment that day!”

She also admitted she considered pooing in his hot tub, but talked herself out of sending that particularly grim message.

Yet fans reckon they’ve sussed her former lover out – and his father is close to her new jungle home.

Viewers of the ITV reality series have matched up her love life and reckon she was dating I’m A Celeb co-star Barry McGuigan’s son Shane, 36, in 2018, just before her Love Island stint.

One fan took to X to remark: “Is Maura talking about Barry’s son and his toothbrush…? the time line matches up.”

A second put: “Why have we not seen any chat with Maura and Barry yet? Surely they already know each other, she went out with his son.”

A third put: “Maura was Talking about Barry’s Son. Good Job Barry wasn’t there.”

Another mused: “Not Maura talking about her ex who is Barry’s son. She’s talking about his son right next to him and he has no clue.”

One then giggled: “The producers knowing full well that Maura used to date Barry’s son.”

The Sun exclusively revealed that Maura briefly dated boxing legend Barry’s son Shane after meeting him while she was working as a ring girl for William Hill in 2018.

She was working on a fight between David Haye and Tony Bellew, which Shane was covering for a radio station.

2019 Love Island star Maura, 33, will be a late entry to the jungle line-up.

She will head into the I’m A Celeb camp, along with the Reverend Richard Coles, 62.

The duo will join the likes of Coleen Rooney, Barry McGuigan and Danny Jones in Ant and Dec’s jungle camp a week into this year’s star-spangled series.

Yet initially the duo will have their own private base – and a secret mission – before heading into the main compound Down Under.

Maura has already described the jungle as “hell.”

Meanwhile Richard, who has starred on Strictly, has confessed his biggest “fear.”

Maura caught the eye of boxing coach Shane, who asked her out.

They dated for a short time before calling it quits and they remained friends.

GREAT MATES?

Before heading into the Australian jungle, Maura told The Sun she thought she’d be pals with Barry.

She told us: “I already know Tulisa. So I’ll definitely get on with her.

“She’s amazing. I reckon I’d get on really well with Barry McGuigan.

“You know, Irish… I think he’s very humorous.

“I never met him (while dating Shane).

“But I reckon he’d be my cup of tea, with the humour and stuff.”
