Tyson Fury drops cryptic nine-word response when asked about retirement after defeat to Oleksandr Usyk
Have we seen the last of Tyson Fury?
Tyson Fury responded to a question about retirement with a cryptic nine-word hint after his defeat by Oleksandr Usyk.
On Saturday night, all eyes were fixated on the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as Usyk and Fury met again in the squared circle.
Despite putting in a much-improved performance, Fury was ultimately left disappointed again as Usyk came out on top via unanimous decision.
Judges Gerardo Martinez, Patrick Morley and Ignacio Robles scored the bout 116-112 in the favour of the Ukrainian.

Speaking after the fight, Usyk said: “I win. It’s good, Im not a judge. I’m an athlete. “I prepare well. My wife helps me, my children help me. For me is a very happy day. My sons won a judo competition today as well. It’s a very happy day.
“My son said ‘hey, papa, you’re next’. I said ‘Okay’”.
After the defeat, a lot of questions will be directed at Fury regarding his future and whether we will see him back in the ring again.
What did Tyson Fury say about his future?
When asked about retirement during his press conference, Fury delivered a cryptic response.
He replied: “You might see me fight again, you might not.”
The 36-year-old then said: “I’m going to go home and have a good Christmas. I’m going to go and enjoy it. Merry Christmas everybody! And a happy new year!”

Speaking about the fight, which he felt he won ‘by at least three rounds’, Fury added: “I was confident I was ahead. I thought I won both fights and I’ve gone home with two losses on my record now. But I’ll always believe til the day I day I won that fight.
“Listen, sometimes it’s hard to score fights. Frank had me three or four rounds up, a lot had me two. It is what it is. You can’t change decisions, I won’t cry over spilled milk.”
He concluded: “When you can’t get a knockout, you can’t guarantee a win.”
Looking ahead, promoter Eddie Hearn has urged Fury to get in the ring with Anthony Joshua, in what would be one of British boxing’s biggest ever fights.
He said: “There is only one fight for Tyson Fury and it’s Anthony Joshua. Fury is still potentially at the peak of his powers but just wasn’t up to it against Usyk.
“I’d love to see Fury v AJ at Wembley and then maybe come back out here.”
