This Morning viewers spotted some tension between ‘My Mum, Your Dad’ participants Jenny and Danny during their appearance on the show. They joined Monday’s show to discuss their emerging relationship with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley following new developments on the dating series.

The pair are both single parents and are set to be the first to experience ‘the snug’, a private space for parents to disconnect from their kids’ watchful eyes.

During the interview, a probing query from Ben about long-lasting love sparked an evasive response with Danny hinting: “You’ve got to keep watching haven’t we? “.

Even with Cat pushing for more details, they remained tight-lipped, prompting Ben to remark on their physically distanced seating, musing over its significance, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Danny gave away just one detail, expressing: “The one spoiler I’ll give is that absolutely all of us have come out completely and utterly best friends and will be lifelong friends.”

Spectators were sceptical. One commented: “‘It was all filmed so long ago’ – what better way to say that you’re already distancing yourself from the show and that you’re not together and that this is a contractually obligated interview.”

Another observed the apparent discomfort saying: “They cannot stand each other. But obviously contractually obliged by ITV to appear on shows like #thismorning to sell this ********.”

One person commented: “He doesn’t dislike her nearly as much as she dislikes him. #ThisMorning.”

“Jenny and Danny didn’t hit it off then? Danny will fall off the end of the sofa in a minute,” another viewer observed. On the apparent space between the two, a viewer remarked: “May as well have sat them on different sofas they’re sitting so far apart! “.

Danny opened up about his experience on the show, admitting that he immediately declined the opportunity. He shared: “My daughter put me forward secretly! I had an email out of the blue, I read through and thought, ‘Absolutely not’ and deleted it.”

“It was a month later she owned up to it and I had to explain that I had no interest in meeting anyone and I had no interest in going on TV.” Nonetheless, he disclosed that with the new year, he vowed to embrace life more openly and stop avoiding challenges.

As they prepare to be the first pair in the snug on Monday night’s episode, Danny confessed to finding the idea quite intimidating at first. When it came to discussing their off-air conversation, they revealed Jenny talked about her CV because she was feeling anxious.

Danny quipped: “I hope it was nerves, it was the most dull-” but Jenny interrupted him retorting: “Charming, thanks.”
