Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary brought the I’m A Celeb jungle to the This Morning studio on Friday when the pair took part in their very own Bushtucker Trial.

The hosts shrieked with fear and pulled some interesting faces as they were tasked with retrieving gold stars from boxes filled with toads, snakes, mice and geckos.

The contents of each box were revealed to the audience but remained a mystery to Alison, 49, and Dermot, 51, until they put their hand inside.

As Dermot’s hand made contact with a hoard of jumpy toads, he shouted: ‘Ah! It just touched me!’.

Alison grimaced as she was told she needed to ‘be careful’ with the mystery animal in her box and asked: ‘Why do I have to be careful?’.

She quickly retrieved her first star before peeking through the hole and spotting the mice inside which gave her quite the fright. ‘I can see something moving! What is that?’, she screamed.

Meanwhile, Christine Lampard nearly threw up live on Lorraine on Friday when she was left heaving at the smell of a vomit fruit cocktail during an I’m A Celeb-style Bushtucker Trial.

The presenter, 45, was joined by previous runner up Joel Dommett, 39, live from Australia, and journalists Lucy Cave and Mark Heyes for a special show  segment ahead of its launch on Sunday.

Christine, Lucy and Mark were challenged to completing their own Bushtucker Trial which saw them drink a ‘Co-spew-politan’ – lemonade mixed with vomit fruit.

As Christine and Mark lifted the glasses to their mouths, they began heaving immediately and looked like they might throw up.

‘This is the most hideous thing I’ve ever smelt!’, Christine said as she recoiled away from the brown drink.

‘Awful. One of the worst things I’ve ever smelt!’, added Mark.

Lucy looked horrified after she took her first sip but somehow managed to drink the entire glass of vomit fruit sludge, prompting applause from the others who barely managed a taste.

Also known as cheese fruit or ‘Noni’, vomit fruit is native to Australia and Southeast Asia and grows on morinda citrifolia trees.

It gets its name from its pungent smell and funky, cheesy, vomit-like taste which is certainly an acquired taste.

It comes after Daily Mail showbiz reporter Dolly Busby threw up a boiled bull’s penis and got covered in fish guts when she tried I’m A Celeb’s worst Bushtucker Trial.

Dolly, who is currently in Queensland, Australia, explained how it is not as easy as it looks when you are sat watching at home from your sofa.

She wrote: ‘From the single hair that stared back at me as I lifted it up to my lips and the stale clammy pink colour to the first unnerving crunch prompting an immediate gag reflex – it was just not humanly possible to eat.

‘Plus having to swallow it in sixty seconds while sitting on a plank suspended above a pool of 75 kilos of stinking rotten fish guts just adds a whole new gruesome element to the game.

‘And while you’re sitting jeering at the celebrities, hand reaching for another buttery biscuit, just know Bushtucker Trials are seriously no laughing matter for them.’

Dressed for the part, Coleen looked jungle ready in a khaki cropped jacket and matching cargo pants.

Meanwhile Melvin opted for a more relaxed vibe as he wore a mesh orange polo top and matching linen trousers.

The five appeared in good spirits as they laughed together on the beach as they prepare to go on an epic race to kickstart their jungle journey in one of the most competitive launch shows ever.

This year’s celebrities will pair up and partake in a number of challenges in a bid to cross the finish line first and become the camp leaders.
