Big Brother fans were left furious after the live broadcast suffered an outage on Friday night, which took the show out for a couple of minutes.

Dramatic scenes unfolded when the ITV2 channel suffered audio problems before admitting to audiences that there were ‘technical difficulties’.

During Big Brother: Late and Live which followed the first live eviction, host Will Best was talking with a member of the live studio audience, when the sound suddenly cut out.

The show continued without audio, making viewers at home believe there was something wrong their end.

However, a message from the channel appeared on screen confirming that there technical problems.

The message read: ‘We’re currently experiencing a technical issue. Whilst we try to get it fixed, enjoy some of Big Brother’s greatest ever moments. We hope to be back with tonight’s live show very soon.’

Following the statement, the show featured some of the biggest moments from Big Brother UK.

However, the broadcaster continued to face audio problems, leaving viewers with just the visuals and no sound.

ITV2 then issued a second on-screen apology, stating: ‘We’re sorry for the disruption’ while a voiceover reassured viewers that efforts were underway to resolve the problem.

Later, as the message stayed on screen, the audio of the biggest mooments could be heard, but not the visuals.

After seven minutes, AJ Odudu and Will returned to screen where Will addressed what had just happened, saying: ‘Guys we are sorry about the interruption there. We had a few technical issues, but we’re back now!’

As time had run out, AJ had to wrap up the show quickly, with viewers missing out on the last segment due to the technical glitch.

The faux pas comes as Ryan Bradshaw was the first housemate to be evicted from the series on Friday.

Rosie Williams, Dean Smith, and Nathan King survived the public vote and made it through to another week.

He told AJ and Will he was: ‘Gutted to be fair but someone’s got to go first’.
