Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took to Instagram to share a rather inspiring video on Tuesday morning.

The 52-year-old movie star shared a video of him meeting a young fan named Jonny Cleasby, who shared his story with The Rock at a meet and greet event.

‘I wanted to say thank you very much. You inspired me to lose 60 pounds by January,’ Jonny said in the video.

He added, ‘There’s nothing more to me than what you do. I think you’re awesome,’ as Dwayne responded, ‘Thank you so much. I appreciate that,’ which comes after he looked unrecognizable on a movie set.

Dwayne then said, ‘So tell me about your journey?’ Jonny said, ‘Every day, running, hitting the weights. I know I don’t look… I used to look bigger and I definitely slimmed down.’

‘I’ve listened to other people, but you were the most inspiring to me. I have all your gear, I love everything. I wanted to say, thank you so much. Is there any way I could take a photo with you?’

The Rock obliged and said, ‘Of course, man! Let’s do it!’ He’s also told that it’s Jonny’s birthday tomorrow as the star wishes him a Happy Birthday before taking the snap.

Dwayne asked again how much he’s lost and Jonny said 60 pounds as The Rock said, ‘You look amazing!’

‘Thank you for sharing that with me. It means a lot,’ Dwayne said as he gave Jonny a hug and said, ‘Keep up the great work.’

The Rock added in the post’s caption, ‘I know, I know this may sound corny… but you guys hear me say this all the time when it comes to things like this…’

He added that, ‘meeting people and hearing about their journeys of weight loss, mental health struggles, fitness, dealing with loss, anxiety, depression, hard times etc etc moments Iike this become my profound reminder that this is the best part of fame…’

‘Keep up the great work Jonny Cleasby, not only have you changed your life, but your journey will change many lives who you’ll go on to touch, as you roll on down the road of life,’ he added.

‘Happy birthday dude, go crush cake & tequila,’ The Rock concluded in his post on Tuesday.

Johnson was recently seen in a still from his new film The Smashing Machine, which is A24’s 2025 biopic on retired mixed martial artist Mark Kerr.

At 52, the half-Samoan, quarter-black actor plays the half-Irish, half-Puerto Rican wrestler – who was in his 20s and 30s in the late nineties and early aughts when he became a two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion.

Dwayne was de-aged and transformed by two-time Oscar winner Kazu Hiro, the same prosthetic make-up designer who transformed Bradley Cooper in Maestro (2023), Charlize Theron in Bombshell (2019), and Gary Oldman in Darkest Hour (2017).
