Good Morning Britain star Laura Tobin has revealed that she’s the ‘biggest diva’ on the ITV breakfast show – and admitted her co-star Kate Garraway is ‘a calamity’.
The meteorologist, 42, has opened up about what it’s really like behind the scenes of the popular programme, after working on the show for twelve years.
Commenting on her behind the scenes antics, she told MailOnline: ‘Honestly, I probably take the longest to get ready so I am likely the biggest diva.
‘Most people will have their outfits hanging up behind the dressing room door by Debbie, the stylist, and they’ll just go, ‘Fine, I’ll wear it.’
‘Whereas, I’ll say, “Debbie, I don’t like that today.” Sometimes you’re not feeling a dress, because it’s not the right fit, so I might be the one who is more likely to say, “Can I change?”

Talking about GMB presenter Kate, Laura added: ‘She’s still crazy, when we look at her dressing room before she arrives it’s clean, and thirty seconds later it looks like a bomb has gone off.
‘She’s like a calamity, but she’s super smart, and she remembers every interview she’s ever done and everyone she’s ever spoken to.
‘I think people might underestimate her ability and intelligence, but as soon as the cameras roll, she’s just on it.’
She explained that the team have been rallying around the 57-year-old presenter following the tragic death of her husband Derek Draper in January.
Former political lobbyist Derek died aged 56 in January from COVID-19 complications, almost four years after he was taken ill with the respiratory virus.
He was one of the country’s longest-suffering coronavirus patients and remained in hospital for more than a year but never fully recovered after the virus left long-lasting damage to his organs.
Laura gushed: ‘She is amazing, and I’ve just bought a house and we’re doing renovations, and she is always asking me, “How is the house going?”
‘And I just think, how do you even remember what’s going on in other people’s lives? She’s always looking out for everyone else, and we’re trying to look out for her. She just seems to soldier on.

The meteorologist went on to explain that she gets up at 4am for work which is ‘not ideal’.
‘It’s early,’ she admitted, ‘I have a few days off at the minute, and this morning I took my daughter to school and I’d to get up at 7:30am, and some how that was harder than getting up at 4am.
‘I think because I ended up staying up late last night, I had a mid-week drink and watched the Bake Off, but when I’m working, I don’t drink at all. It’s not a good idea.’
When asked the impossible question of who she is closest to on Good Morning Britain, she struggled to decide but revealed some sweet details about her relationships.
Laura explained: ‘That’s tough! Dr Amir brings me food from his mum’s so I should probably say him, but Richard Arnold and I go on lots of nights out, and I love going out with Dickie because he always makes me laugh.
Laura also revealed that she would ‘love’ to do Strictly Come Dancing or Dancing On Ice if she were to get the opportunity.
She said: ‘I would love to do both, but it would involve me having the time and them wanting me.

‘I did a reality show years ago called Drive, which saw me driving different types of cars.
‘I think if I can learn a new skill that would be great, whereas me in the jungle, when I’m hungry, I’d get very angry and I like things to be fair, so I would be terrible on I’m A Celebrity.’
Adding: ‘There would be even less sleep, but my daughter loves both Strictly and Dancing on Ice. She loves all of the dresses and music, and she’s desperate.
‘She always says, ‘Mummy, when are you going to do it?’ And I reply, ‘When they ask me.’
And the recently controversy surrounding the BBC dance show has not put Laura off, as she affirmed: ‘Having a twin brother means I’m super competitive.’
The presenter laughed: ‘I go in 110% and I’d want to work my hardest. It might be a case of, Laura needs to be nicer to me.’
She also confidently stated that she feels no pressure to look good on TV and instead it’s a ‘privilege’ to have a dress hanging up on her door and her hair and make-up styled ready to go.
Commenting on the possibility of ever going under the knife, the meteorologist said: ‘I feel I have horrendous lines in my forehead, but I’m really expressive when I talk so if I did [get any work done] you wouldn’t be able to understand if the weather was good or bad.
‘So for now, this is how I look. I feel I need my expression. I need to [go under the knife].
‘I frown really badly, and I always wear sunglasses, even if it’s a really cloudy day and people must think I’m such a diva for doing so.
‘Yet if I went under the knife and it all went wrong, reading the weather every day would be a disaster.’
