Good Morning Britain fans weren’t impressed with Kate Garraway’s behaviour on the latest episode of the ITV breakfast show.

Viewers took exception to the way that Kate, 57, who recently won an NTA, and her co-star Adil Ray, 50, discussed the controversial topic of NHS abolition.

Kate has long since been an advocate for the NHS, following the care they gave her late husband Derek Draper who died in January after a years-long battle with long Covid.

However, when Kate was face-to-face with a guest who held the same position as her, an NHS doctor, fans observed that she wouldn’t let him get a word in.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, they wrote: ‘Kate !!!! Let the doctor speak. Omg what is wrong with this woman, she’s SO rude!!! #GMB’;

‘Why did sneering Kate Garraway not once interrupt the woman advocating the abloshiment of the #NHS but interrupted the doctor defending the #NHS almost immediately?? (sic)’;

More fans questioned why Kate would entertain the arguments for abolishing the NHS given her deeply personal connection to the service.

On the programme, Kate said: ‘So we’re debating this morning whether the NHS should be abolished.

‘Instinct have come out and said that we should look at other models, look at Europe and some of the other countries in Europe, that have insurance models. Social security, some of them call it.”

Kate added: ‘You see, I think that there’s various systems that are being looked at, and they’re always a little bit ‘the devil’s in the detail’.

‘One of them is the Netherlands, other systems like in France, and they have some form in the Netherlands of a payment that’s mandatory. Everybody has to pay into a form of health insurance.

‘I haven’t studied the model closely myself, and it isn’t massively clear from the report, but you know it’s whether that would be government backed or how that would work?’

Kate finished: ‘I mean are we at a crisis point where we have to look? We know the NHS is just a treasure, but we have to look at other ways.’
