Good Morning Britain fans had a lot of complaints as Susanna Reid was replaced by a familiar face – raging ‘who makes these decisions?!’.
On Monday morning’s instalment of the ITV show, Kate Garraway, 57, joined Richard Madeley, 68, on the GMB sofa to deliver the latest headlines and interview guest and DJ Craig David.
Since Ben Shephard’s, 50, departure from the show earlier this year, Richard is usually joined by Susanna Reid, 54, with other hosts sometimes stepping in, such as Adil Ray, 50, Charlotte Hawkins, 49, or Laura Tobin, 43.
Last week, Susanna announced that she will be off-screen until Christmas Day when she is set to host again with Ed Balls, 57.
However, fans were not best pleased with Susanna’s absence and the pairing of Kate and Richard on Monday.
On social media site X, one said: ‘Not coming up on GMB, Susanna Reid. Paid a salary of £1,100,000 to host this dross three mornings a week. But not for the next three weeks obviously.’
‘Susanna worked on Sunday’s show yesterday and now has to take 3 weeks off!’, a second complained.

While yet another said: ‘Susanna on her Christmas break already.’
Commenting on the Kate and Richard pairing, one viewer brutally said: ‘GMB who the f*** makes the decision to pair up the 2 most hated presenters in TV?’
Another wrote: ‘Kate loves her own jokes, think she’s the only one who does.’
Others commented on how many times she interrupted Richard dyring the broadcast.
It comes after Kate was scolded by her bosses and told to ‘let the guest talk’ in an awkward moment during an episode of GMB last month.
The TV presenter was fronting the show yet again alongside Richard Madeley when they welcomed comedian Babatúndé Aléshé to the studio for an interview.
He appeared on the ITV programme to dish out his best I’m A Celeb survival tips and share his opinion on this year’s line-up, after going Down Under himself as a campmate who took part in the 2022 series.
He was candidly explaining why he couldn’t take part in the Walk The Plank challenge, which saw him forfeit and break down in tears.
Kate quickly chimed in to share her own experience with the task when she gave it a go as a contestant in 2019.
Babatúndé explained: ‘When Charlene [White] walked out they drew the plank away after she got to the end, so I was like oh once I get there I’m stuck, and that was enough for me.’
Kate quipped: ‘It’s so windy, nobody tells you that. When I did it they took Ant and Dec downstairs for a bit because they were just checking all the security and I was like “What about us?”
‘It was so frightening and they always put tricks in like there was gaps, there was a seesaw. Mine was a stepladder down and then you go onto another plank and look down.’
She then talked about the science behind the fear of heights, explaining: ‘It is a very basic fear, the fear of heights.
‘There’s been a lot of research done and one piece of research was that they put crawling babies in a room in a Perspex square.’
Kate went on to explain the study, before joking: ‘We’re going off on a tangent here…’
After hearing a warning from the producers in her ear piece, she admitted: ‘They just told me to let you talk, it’s a fair point, you are the guest.’

Switching to a new subject, Richard asked Babatúndé: ‘Who’s your money on then?,’ to which he replied: ‘Ohh I don’t know, it’s not even really started yet.’
Viewers were quick to pick up on the awkward interview moment and rushed to social media to share their thoughts, writing:
‘Richard and Kate just love the sound of their own voices. Just talking over each other and the guests. It’s Painful #gmb.’
‘I thought this was about Babatunde #gmb.’
‘Man can’t get a word in with these 2 muppets! Shut the f***up!! #GMB.’
‘How many times is Kate going to cut straight over Richard during this interview? How rude?! #GMB.’
GMB fans certainly have their favourites and get frustrated with the constant hosting switch-ups.
They took aim at Richard last Wednesday, dubbing his interviews as ‘shambolic’ and claimed that he had driven them to ‘change the channel’.
What appeared to upset people the most was when he ‘spoke over’ guest and Mirror Editor Kevin Maguire when discussing the issue of farmers and inheritance tax.
Viewers said his ‘interruptions were frustrating’ and asked ‘why is he still employed as he’s a shocking presenter’.

Fans dubbed his interviews as ‘shambolic’ and claimed that he had driven them to ‘change the channel’
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one penned: ‘Why won’t they let Kevin Maguire speak? He is trying to deliver the facts on the farmers/inheritance tax issue. First Andrew, then Susanna and finally Richard interrupting. Let him finish a sentence for goodness sake. Whether you agree with him or not, it’s so frustrating #GMB’
‘@GMB every time I see Richard Madley on my screen I change channel. Come to @bluesky people, much nicer environment x’
‘@GMB Reid !! Why are smiling when Vicki is describing her pain ,it’s abysmal, you and Madeley are the worst on TV’
‘Why oh why do #GMB insist on having that vile b******d Richard Madeley on our screens, they must know by now how he makes us all vomit.’
‘Unfortunately happened to catch Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid. No better. What a shambles’
‘@GMB @susannareid100 Shabana Mahmood holding her own. Madeley and Reid asking questions, getting positive straight answers but then cutting her off mid sentence when they didn’t like what they were hearing. Obviously didn’t fit their narrative. #GMB bias is shining thru’
‘@GMB @toryboypierce @Kevin_Maguire Why is Madeley still employed? Shocking presenter.’
