There were tense scenes on I’m A Celebrity on Thursday, as Ant McPartlin found himself being called out by Dean McCullough.

Ant was quick to slam Dean’s efforts in the latest trial, before questioning his reasons for abruptly quitting the challenge. Dean had managed to secure four stars, his best score yet, but it still meant he didn’t quite manage the 10 on offer.

As the challenge went on he missed a few, before panicking over the critters and the rest that were joining him in the boxes around his head. When it got to the fish guts, and after minutes of Ant pulling faces, Dean called it quits.

He of course was unaware that it was fish guts so fled abruptly, leaving Ant furious. Just moments earlier before the trial, Ant had warned him that he needed to stick it out and try, after two previous days of failed trials.

So when he quit yet again Ant could not contain is fury, immediately asking him what he was playing at. But Dean had enough of the jibes and called him out in front of an awkward Dec Donnelly.

During the task, Ant kept urging a terrified Dean to look at what was in the box despite knowing he was scared. Dean shouted out almost in tears, telling Ant: “You’re sick! I don’t want to look.”

As the trial came to an end, Ant told Dean: “It’s only fish guts but you called it. If you’d let us tell you what was coming in you’d not have freaked out.” He then pulled a face showing his disappointment, then asking him for a reason why he quit.

But Dean had enough of the jibes and barked back at Ant, telling him he too would have been annoyed if he was covered in fish guts. He told him: “You’re giving it the big un,” before reminding him of the horrors he had faced in there.

Ant suddenly tried to tone down his rage at the star even shaking his hand, but fans said it was obvious he was “seething” and had had enough of the trial flops after three days of it. Taking to X, one fan posted on X: “Ant has had enough of Dean,” as another said: “Ant is so fed up.” A third added: “Ant looks SEETHING and I feel it. Dean is not in the least bit entertaining,” as a fourth fan wrote: “You can tell Ant is so sick of Dean doing these trials already.”
