They have been on weather watch since the gustnado — a local nickname for a mini-tornado — battered Queensland with hailstones.
Currently, the area has severe weather warnings owing to the heat — but torrential rainstorms are predicted to hit.
A source said: “ITV bosses don’t know if they’re coming or going — its either factor 50 or umbrellas.
“Bosses have plans in place for all scenarios, they just wish they knew which one they were planning for.”
Producers insisted: “We have contingency plans for all weather.”
There will be a have a slightly different start to the series this year as bosses made a major change to the starting challenges.
ITV execs previously made the decision to axe Walk the Plank, which saw the famous faces suspended 314ft over the Brisbane coastline.
It was the campmates’ first challenge before they made their way to the infamous campsite.
Although producers decided to change things up, they will be replacing it with a new task – which they insist is just as scary.

EXCLUSIVEI’m A Celeb stars face dramatic introduction to Australia as a raging thunderstorm causes flight chaos and leaves them unable to land
A raging thunderstorm threatened to divert the plane carrying the first I’m A Celeb stars to Sydney Airport.
But the show’s spin-off hosts Sam Thompson, Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers were one of the last passengers to touch down in Brisbane unscathed – all other flights had to make the 1:35 hour diversion.
McFly’s Danny Jones, the first I’m A Celeb star to arrive Down Under was on the same flight which made it just in time.
In a hellish experience for passengers the plane was forced to hang above the runway for a time before it could land.
Among those on the first flight was Danny Jones who arrived at Heathrow Airport bright and early on Saturday morning ahead of his 24-hour flight to Australia for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The full line-up for this years series is yet to be confirmed but according to reports, Coleen Rooney will take part in this year’s I’m A Celebrity after landing the biggest deal in the show’s history
The countdown is on until a new group of stars head to the Australian outback to face their fears and compete to be crowned either the King or Queen of the jungle on the ITV show.
Ahead of the launch, which typically occurs in November, the crew have been hard at work assembling the camp and challenge areas, which is in Springbook National Park in Queensland, New South Wales.
Three small wooden rooms have been constructed in the middle of the bush with brightly painted fronts.
One photo shows five workers placing large glass boxes in the centre of an empty swimming pool, which looks like it could be an creature filled swimming trial for the celebrities.
For a second water trial, a dock has been added to a dark pond surrounded by the Australian bush.
