Timothée Chalamet went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday to promote his new movie A Complete Unknown, but he wound up being confronted over his mustache and goatee.
‘The first time I was on here, I hadn’t hit puberty,’ the 28-year-old Oscar nominee joked to the 60-year-old host.
‘So my voice has changed, and now I’ll probably play The Rock in my next movie.’
Timothée sprouted the sparse facial hair in order to play the titular role in Josh Safdie’s solo feature directorial debut Marty Supreme, which he’s also producing.
But Chalamet must love his new ‘stache considering he could’ve shaved it off a week ago when production wrapped on A24’s $70M-budget ping pong drama also starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler the Creator, and Fran Drescher.
Thursday marked the Dune: Part Two action star’s fourth time appearing on the CBS talk show after previously stopping by in 2018, 2021, and February of this year.

Timothée reportedly enlisted the same exact team – movement coach Polly Bennett, vocal coach Scott Flaherty, and dialect coach Erik Singer – that his Dune co-star Austin Butler hired to play Elvis in 2022.
On Monday, Chalamet was nominated for the best actor in a motion picture (drama) trophy at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, which air January 5 on CBS/Paramount+.
