Maura Higgins was quick to ask about Pete Wicks’ stint on Strictly Come Dancing when she was eliminated from the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

The Love Island star, 34, and TOWIE star Pete, 36, have been hitting headlines in recent months after they were seen kissing outside a London hotel in August. Not only have they spent a lot of time together, but they also urged fans to vote for each other as they took part in their shows, Strictly and I’m A Celeb.

While in the jungle, Maura seemingly solidified the rumours of their romance when she discussed an unnamed man. During a chat with her campmates, she confirmed the man was someone in the public eye, but she wasn’t sure if they were an item as she “doesn’t know the rules” and was still officially single.

The reality star revealed she had been friends with her new man for five years before things turned romantic after he persisted. Oti asked: “What made you say yes then?” Maura shared: “He wouldn’t give up.” The star also revealed their first date was a ‘friendship date’ and told the campmates that he wasn’t an ‘a**hole’.

And when she was the sixth celebrity to leave the jungle, her focus was on Pete as she was seen asking her friend Talia: “Is Pete still in the show?” In scenes airing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Coming Out this Friday evening, Maura is seen in the car after leaving the jungle.

She says: “If you’re missing someone, you’re missing someone and it comes out. And I do, I miss him. Yeah, I really do miss him.” She also admitted she’d have like to have done a skydive as part of the show, so Maura is put to the test and goes to a skydive centre to face her fears.

The star said: “This has been one of those things that I’ve always wanted to do but I’ve just never been brave enough.” After completing it ,she says: “This is just the cherry on top of the cake.”

After being eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Maura 34-year-old said she was “proud” of Pete’s journey on Strictly and appeared to confirm a romance with him on ITV’s This Morning, when she joked that she would let presenter Alison Hammond be a bridesmaid at their wedding.

Maura said: “You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private, but let’s be real, I said it. I can’t remember saying it, but I said the words, ‘I miss him’. I do miss him, like I missed all my friends and family. Honestly, he’s been so supportive, honestly. I didn’t know if he was still in Strictly and I’m so proud of him, he’s proud of me, and I can’t wait to see him when I get back.”
