Michelle Keegan has shared one of her highlights of the year just days after announcing she is pregnant with her first child.

The former Coronation Street actress, 37, has had an incredible year and rounded it off with her pregnancy announcement with husband Mark Wright, also 37. They will be marking their 10th wedding anniversary in 2025 as well as welcoming their first child. Ahead of 2024 coming to an end, Michelle has looked back at her career highlights.

She starred in the huge Netflix hit Fool Me Once earlier in the year, which saw her shoot to worldwide stardom and was tipped to become the next Bond girl. Michelle attracted fans from across the world, with her portrayal of Maya Stern as she battled to solve a murder mystery. The nail-biting thriller was based on American author Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name.

On New Year’s Eve, Michelle looked back at the past year and shared a clip from the series that was posted by Netflix. In the clip, Michelle’s character Maya stood alongside Joanna Lumley as Judith Burkett when she told her: “Because quite frankly, Maya, you can f**k off. Because you know nothing about my Andrew.”

Michelle told her followers: “One of my highlights of 2024…being told to f*%k off by Dame Joanna Lumley,” alongside a laughing and raised hands emojis. The eight-episode first season dropped on Netflix on New Year’s Day – with many fans bingeing the show in one go.

Michelle’s co-stars were also full of her praise as Emmett J Scanlan appeared on Lorraine where he opened up on working with the actress. He said: “Michelle is insanely collaborative, really fun on and off set, beautiful on and off set, hugely talented. She’s showing an example of what a leading lady should be or just a leading actor should be. She brought so much positivity! I can’t speak highly enough of her!”

Many fans questioned if a second season of the show will be filmed. However, reports emerged stating that the series was merely a mini-series and won’t return with more episodes. Michelle has also had a busy year filming BBC series Ten Pound Poms. The hit show, set in Australia will return to screens in 2025 and fans can’t wait to see Michelle reprise her role as nurse, Kate Thorne. Written and created by BAFTA award-winning Danny Brocklehurst, the first successful series followed a group of Brits who migrated to Australia after WW2 in 1957 in the promise of a better life in Australia.

This week, Michelle and Mark shared the exciting news they are set to become parents. They both shared a stunning photo taken on a beach as Michelle held a hand on her bump and beamed at Mark as he walked towards her. The expectant parents both wore matching white outfits and shared: “2025 is going to be a special one for us…”
