PHILLIP Schofield has returned to Twitter for the first time in three years after issuing a series of bombshells on Channel 5’s Cast Away.

The 62-year-old took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce his comeback.

Phil’s Cast Away on Channel 5 is his first TV appearance since the fallout from his departure from This Morning.

In this new show, Phil is isolated on a Madagascan island, where he faces survival challenges while reflecting on his recent public scandal.

The program appears to be an attempt at reputation repair, positioning Phil as someone trying to survive both the physical environment and the backlash from his personal controversies.

Phil has since posted a snap of himself, on the island, to X.

He captioned the post: “Brief return to X I’m so proud of these shows. ‘Cast Away’ streaming now on My5”

One user commented: “Whoever advised you to attempt a gentle comeback should be sacked.

“You’ve earned more money in your career than most of us will in our lifetimes and with that comes responsibilities, which you abused. There’s no coming back from that.”

Whilst another added: “So sad to see that you’re incredibly fame hungry and you want to be back in the spotlight again. Which you don’t deserve.”

A third penned: “You can leave again and close the door on your way out.”

Some fans showed their support towards the former This Morning presenter, with one writing: “I loved it watched every night, you did really well don’t think I would have coped alone!

“Ignore the haters Philip everyone makes mistakes in life just not everyone has to have the world on their back when they do! Wishing you and your family a peaceful life.”

Whilst another penned: “So happy to see you Phil, I hope you come back permanently.”

Phil shared a separate video capturing the moment he reunited with his dog after returning from filming Cast Away.

He captioned the post: “After 3 weeks away … Alfie’s welcome. Cast Away available to stream on My5.”

On Cast Away, Phil said that he was sacked by ITV because of the bad publicity caused by his paedophile brother’s crimes.

He said: “I came clean about my affair. What people don’t realise is I wasn’t fired from This Morning when I admitted lying… it was before, because of someone I used to call brother.”

That contradicts the narrative created around the time of his departure in May last year, which suggested he had resigned after confessing to a fling with a younger runner.

Through the series, he also broke down in tears as he spoke about discovering new things about himself in the wake of the scandal.

But for viewers at home, the scenes proved too much as they flocked to social media to comment.

One said: “Not watching a second of the sickeningly desperate attempt for #PhillipSchofield to garner sympathy for being a wrong ‘un. Imagine doing what he did and essentially having a video diary of your defence aired on TV. That his narcissism is being pandered to is grim.”

A second blasted: “Can’t believe a TV channel has given this guy a platform again.”
