Ruth Langsford didn’t let her estranged husband Eamonn Holmes’ holiday plans ruin her Christmas as she shared a festive post on social media.

On Christmas day, GB News presenter Eamonn, 65, arrived at his girlfriend Katie Alexander’s home up North in the in the small West Yorkshire town of Mirfield. Eamonn, who lives in London, split with wife Ruth earlier this year. Since then, he has been linked to the counsellor, 43, and things are only continuing to get more serious between the two of them.

Eamonn and Ruth spent their first Christmas without each other, with Eamonn recently pictured getting out of his vehicle with Katie in her hometown. Ruth had cosy plans of her own with his family and she made sure to share updates with fans on her social media page.

On Boxing Day, she took to her Instagram Stories to share a video of the Christmas-themed tea towels she had hanging in the kitchen. She captioned the quick post: “I mean…. you have to have Christmas tea towels right?!” and added a yes/no survey for her fans. She also shared a clip of the new festive pillows she got.

Since their separation, Eamonn has moved on with new girlfriend Katie, while Ruth has been relying on the support of friends, including Rylan Clark. In October, an insider told OK! that Ruth is “dreading” the holiday season and knows the first will be the “hardest”, and she “just wants to get through it.”

It wasn’t just the shock split that could be troubling the ITV star and she previously opened up to Woman and Home Magazine about another family change involving her 22-year-old son Jack. Ruth wrote: “I see Christmas changing every year. Although Jack’s not yet been at his girlfriend’s for Christmas, I’m sure the time will come. Then I’ll have to take a big gulp and go, ‘That’s lovely, darling. Of course, it’s absolutely no problem.’ But, of course, I’ll be dying inside.”

After splitting from Ruth after 14 years of marriage, Eamonn spent his first Christmas with Katie and her extended family. In pictures shared online, the former This Morning star was pictured being helped out of his vehicle by Katie as the pair finally arrived in her hometown. Despite having to use a walking aid amid his chronic pain battle, Eamonn appeared in high spirits as he rang in Christmas Day with his new girlfriend.
