Ruth Langsford has been remaining “quiet and classy” amid her divorce from Eamonn Holmes, which is reportedly how she feels is the “best way” to react as the GB News presenter moves on with his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander.

Last weekend, Eamonn, 64, was spotted with his new love interest, 42, during a stop on their romantic cruise. They enjoyed a night out in Spain and were photographed looking very loved up.

After the new couple put on a public display of affection during their luxury holiday, the Loose Women star, 64, has had a very dignified response.

An insider claimed: “Ruth has remained quiet and classy. Even when people bring up what Eamonn has been up to, she stays silent and just smiles.

“She thinks that is the best way…It has been humiliating for her to see Eamonn and Katie together – and that was before the cringe photos while they were on holiday.”

The insider added to the Mail on Sunday that Ruth has reached another stage in their separation by removing the £2,000 stairlift Eamonn used to get up and down the stairs at their Surrey home.

The estranged couple used to reside in a lavish £3.5 million five-bedroom house in Weybridge, Surrey, which Ruth has continued to live in post-split. Meanwhile, Eamonn has relocated to a nearby apartment.

Eamonn is understood to have struck up a friendship with Katie nine years before his split from Ruth.

It is unclear when their relationship turned romantic, but he had reportedly been showering the divorced relationship counsellor with gifts. These included tickets to a Beyonce concert and taking her and her children to a Manchester United Premier League game.

Elsewhere in Ruth and Eamonn’s divorce proceedings, Ruth is set to become the primary carer of their dog, Maggie, whom they have had for 14 years.

A source revealed to the Express last week: “Eamonn has resigned himself to the fact that he will lose ownership of Maggie. He loves that dog with all his heart but it looks like Ruth will be the dog’s main carer.

“When things settle, he’ll hopefully be able to see Maggie from time to time.”

Eamonn recently addressed concerns about Maggie’s health, assuring fans that despite her age and recent operation to remove a growth, she was still in “better shape” than him amid his own health issues.

The former This Morning host said: “A lot of you wondering about Maggie. She’s had an op to remove a growth. All well. Not bad for a 14-year-old! In fact, she’s in better shape than me.”

Eamonn has largely kept quiet about their divorce but did open up about his hopes that they can “still be friends” while speaking at the TRIC Awards in June.

Ruth has not yet spoken publicly about their split but both she and Eamonn have been seen still wearing their wedding rings.
