Strictly Come Dancing judge, Craig Revel Horwood, has made some cringeworthy comments about Shayne Ward after Sunday night’s bombshell results show.
After a tense dance-off with GoCompare star Wynne Evans, Craig and Motsi Mabuse chose to save the X-Factor star. But after Anton Du Beke plumped for Wynne, the decision was left to Shirley Ballas, who chose to send Shayne packing.
Giving his take on Shayne and his professional partner Nancy Xu, Craig said he had high hopes for the Coronation Street star, sharing: “Shayne has turned a corner. He is shaping up to be one of the best male celebrities. He really nails his routines and has got great natural rhythm.”

He continued in his column for Best magazine: “He put his heart and soul into the rhumba and that is not an easy dance – it can be awkward to do.”
Shayne was the seventh celebrity to exit the BBC One dance contest over the weekend after landing in the dreaded dance-off for a third time.
Sunday night’s (November 10) results show saw two couples having to re-perform their latest routines, with Shayne and Nancy reprising their rumba to Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper before Wynne and Katya took to the dance floor again with their American Smooth to Grace Kelly by MIKA.
After finding out their fate in the star-studded studio, Shayne and Nancy appeared on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two on Monday (November 11) to discuss their exit with host, Fleur East. They shared an emotional moment when looking back on their time together on the series, with Nancy wiping away tears.
Shayne then took to social media, paying tribute to his dance partner. Alongside a sweet picture of him kissing her hand during what ended up being their final performance together, the former Coronation Street star said: “From the moment I met you I knew this was going to be special. I’m a believer that ‘everything happens for a reason’.
“This may have been our last dance together on @bbcstrictly but it’s not our last dance in life. I have grown in so many ways because of your guidance…Your belief, your determination to help me let myself go. I was so grateful for the endless support day in, day out. For me I was honestly given the best partner! (Huge Love to all others partners too). This experience has been a rollercoaster of emotions.. highs lows and endless spins. And I would do it all again if you asked me.”
Following the singer’s exit from the competition, many thought the dad-of-two was “robbed” as viewers took to social media saying Shirley had made the “wrong decision” choosing Wynne over Shayne.
