On Friday’s installment, hosts Dermot O’Leary, 51, and Josie Gibson, 39, were trying to connect with Simon Calder, 68, over video chat.
The travel journalist was in Vienna, Austria, and planning to present a Christmas Travel Chaos segment from abroad.
Introducing the section, Dermot said: ‘Sharing the festive road and rail details you need, where are you today great man?’
Simon’s face flashed on to the screen but the internet was weak, causing his speech to sound like garbled nonsense.
As the producers cut the call, Dermot joked: ‘Just to paraphrase,’ mimicking the same static noise, prompting giggles from Josie.

He added: ‘Someone find that man a lozenge and a reliable connection. He’s back at 11:30 with Travel Chaos.’
‘Yeah and we will get the sound sorted out for you,’ Josie chimed in.
It comes after Josie left Dermot wincing with her awkward reaction to a guest revealing they have bladder cancer during Thursday’s show.
The ITV star and her co-host were chatting to someone on the phone in the studio, who had called in to play the daily Spin To Win game in an attempt to win cash.
Speaking to the guest, she said: ‘Barry, it’s Dermot and Josie here, you have come through to Spin To Win on This Morning.’
After the caller bagged a whopping £1,000 in the game, Josie gushed: ‘You’ve won £1,000 Barry what are you going to spend that on?’
Barry replied: ‘You’ve made my day, I’ve just come out of hospital with bladder cancer,’ to which Josie stumbled before saying: ‘Oh Barry, oh lovely.’
Viewers quickly picked up on the blunder as they rushed to social media to discuss it, with some viewers defending Josie.

Writing on X, users quipped: ‘Like the rest of us, I don’t think Josie quite heard what the contestant was saying. I think she guessed he might have said something nice and went from there. It took me a few video plays to hear he said cancer.’
‘Did she just say… She did didn’t she. Oh lord…’
‘I don’t think she meant anything by it. It was quite a poor unclear line.’
‘Y’all will do anything to try and cancel someone. She clearly didn’t hear him or this was said in an endearment kind of way.’
