This Morning descends into CHAOS as angry presenters have NASTY things thrown at them during their Christmas Day special

This Morning’s presenters were left in hysterics after they got hit in the face with a bunch of sausages during their Christmas day special.

Cat Deeley, Ben Shepard, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary took each other on in a game of swing the sausage, hosted by Josie Gibson.

Lined in a row, the four main presenters each stood with a sausage tied to the end of a suspended rope attached to a belt.

Explaining the rules of the games, Josie demonstrated how the stars needed to thrust their waist into the air for the sausage to swing in the air.

The presenters needed to thrust the sausage hard enough so that they could catch the item in their mouth.

Ben took the game very seriously as he nearly landed the sausage on multiple occasions.

Alison really got into it as she even lifted her skirt a little to try and get a swing.

The festive game came after the show’s main presenters decided to get viewers into the holiday spirit by recreating a famous festive film scene.

They joined forces to tease the pre-recorded Christmas show by recreating Andrew Lincoln’s declaration of love to Keira Knightley from 2003 Christmas classic Love Actually.

The memorable moment has become one of films most recreated and recognisable scenes over the years, seeing Andrew’s Mark show up to his best friend’s house to declare his love for his new wife Juliet – played by Keira.

The controversial clip sees him masquerade as a group of carol singers so as not to tip off her husband Peter upstairs, while he confesses his feelings silently by holding up a series of signs, including one that reads: ‘To me, you are perfect’.

They then kiss and he says: ‘Enough now, that’s enough now,’ as he leaves her to get on with married life.

The clip began with Cat and Ben sat in their dressing room and pulling apart a cracker while Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You plays in the background.

Cat donned her paper hat and cheerfully wished Ben a ‘Merry Christmas’ before asking him: ‘Are you looking forward to the show?’

Ben took the opportunity to quip: ‘I’ve just been having a look, it looks like a cracker’ before the duo were interrupted by a knock on the door.

Jumping up to see who it was, Cat was greeted by Alison and Hammond standing outside holding white cards and a CD player.

Just like in the original scene, Alison mimed that Cat should stay quiet and instructed her to tell Ben it was carol singers, while Dermot played a rendition of Silent Night.

Alison then revealed a series of messages to her friend, which read: ‘Dermot and I love you both so much’ and ‘2024 has been the best year ever’.

However, in a comical moment, Alison accidentally included her seasonal shopping list of milk, potatoes, carrots, Brussels sprouts and mince pies leaving both Dermot and Cat baffled.

Apologising, she then revealed cards that read: ‘For now let me say, just because it’s Christmas – the four of us should present the show together!’

And in a twist ending, Ben opened the door to reveal his own card that read: ‘Great idea! Let’s Go!’ while Cat added out loud: ‘What he said!’

The foursome then linked arms and make their way down to the studio for the festive fun-filled show, which will see sparkling showbiz and soap guests, as well as special performances.
