A popular This Morning host has admitted they may be taking a step back from their role on the show after getting a new job.

Josie Gibson has landed a role that will see her explore luxury travel destinations which will mean she steps away from the hit daytime TV show for a while. The series will focus on the higher-end of travel such as first class airlines, five, six and even seven star hotels and premium airline seats.

The offering comes from Honey Bee and Group M Motion Entertainment. Josie appears delighted with the new role as she said: “I’ve got loads of things in the pipeline, I’m still very involved with This Morning, I’m very grateful for This Morning and everything they’ve helped me with because they grew me as a presenter.

“I should be around at Christmas on the [This Morning] sofa, so then I will get back on the road and try to make it all work as much as I can. It is going to be amazing because I’m going to be exploring how the other half live, like the first class travel.”

She added to tExpress.co.uk: “You know when you walk through the airplane and you think, I wonder what is that way? I’m going to be seeing all the stuff that is the other way. I love that I can still experience things like that and it absolutely shocks me.”

Josie also admitted that it’s a “tough gig, but someone’s got to do it,” adding that she’s “so happy that they’ve asked me, I’m really happy!” She also confirmed that filming is about to get underway admitting “We’ve got quite a few destinations to go to, so yeah we start filming this week.”

Josie also opened up about motherhood being the “hardest job she’s ever done,” as she deals with being a mum to five-year-old son Reggie. Josie took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year and was targeted by trolls at the time who criticised her decision to leave her son to do the show.

After sharing the moment she was reunited with her son on social media she was bombarded with negative comments, she then confessed how hard being separated from Reggie had been during an appearance on Loose Women. She said: “When I was on there I missed him so much. I don’t actually feel like I gave the best of myself because I was so heartbroken, I was pining for him.”
