This Morning’s Ben Shephard has left fans in stitches with a very X-rated comment as he plugged his hilarious Coronation Street cameo.

The TV presenter, 49, got an unexpected mention in a recent episode of the soap last Wednesday when Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) referenced an episode of the ITV show and specifically her love for Ben.

Drama-filled scenes saw Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) dump Dev Alahan after a proposal-gone-wrong, which prompted Mary to quip: ‘Oh Dev, I am genuinely lost for words, which doesn’t often happen.

‘I mean, the last time I was lost for words was when Ben Shephard was stroking a pussy cat on Good Morning Britain and it got away from him and he said: “I’m not a professional pussy-holder.” Oh Ben.’

Of course, the cameo had to get a mention during the soap segment of Wednesday’s This Morning with Sharon Marshall, and was replayed to make sure no viewers missed it.

The TV presenter, 49, got an unexpected mention in a recent episode of the soap last Wednesday when Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) referenced her love for Ben

Hilariously, Ben revealed that his Great Auntie Jan, who is an ‘avid Coronation Street fan’, told him about the mention.

He laughed: ‘My social media went absolutely crazy because of course, she’s amazing, I adore Mary, but I was trying to work out what on Earth they were talking about.’

Shocked, Sharon asked: ‘Could you not remember?,’ to which Ben replied: ‘I didn’t remember, but then Coronation Street Instagram team posted the clip from Good Morning Britain which also I didn’t really remember until I watched it.’

The breakfast programme then went on to play the clip Mary was referencing from GMB, which left Ben and Cat in stitches.

The episode in question saw Ben holding a black cat on his lap, as he presented the show with Kate Garraway.

However, the cat quickly escaped, and Kate quipped: ‘Just when we there I said Ben, you’re not holding that pussy properly, it keeps wriggling all over the place, you need to hold him more firmly.’

Ben jokingly replied: ‘I am not a professional pussy-handler,’ and added on Wednesday’s This Morning that he is ‘still not one’ and ‘Mary is absolutely right’.

The ITV star also took to Instagram last week to share the clip with his 593,000 followers, writing: ‘Thank you for all the brilliant messages (that started with my Great Jan!!) I’ve received about tonight’s @coronationstreet.

‘Mary is absolutely right, I’m no “professional pussy-holder” as this clip will show – but I’m ready to learn!’

Fans and co-stars of Ben were in hysterics as they rushed to the comments to demand he makes an appearance on the soap, penning: ‘The call from Coronation Street should happen this year. You and Mary in the Rovers Return, with matching sweaters.’

‘This had us in stitches.’

‘Mate, this clip will outlive you for generations to come!’

‘Oh Ben oh Mary.’

‘I literally spat my tea out when I saw this. There definitely needs to be a Corrie Special soon!!!’

‘I absolutely love Mary and I love that Mary loves you. Super cute cat too.’

‘Mary is an absolute comedy genius and her obsession with you just makes its all the more funnier…. they have to get you on Corrie!!’

‘You need to make a guest appearance.’

‘It was hilarious.’

‘Oh my days… crying.’

It comes just after Ben dropped Cat Deeley as the pair attempted the viral Dancing With The Stars lift on Tuesday’s episode.

Presenters Ben and Cat, 48, took on the challenge right at the start of the show – but it seriously backfired.

The move was performed by this season’s contestant Danny Amendola and his partner, Witney Carson, as he lifted her from the ground by the ankle.

The elaborate choreography has now gone viral on TikTok, with thousands of people trying it out for themselves at home – including last season’s DWTS contestant Ariana Madix, Nick Cannon and Summer House stars Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke.

The duo opened the show with Ben asking Cat if she was okay after they attempted the move saying: ‘Do you need medical assistance!?’

They then played the clip of them trying it before they went live on air as Ben struggled to get Cat up off the floor.

When he did get her up she nearly made it to her feet before falling to the ground in a heap and laughing.
