McFly duo Tom Fletcher, 39, and Danny Jones, 38, also seemed to appreciate the song as Danny lent his head on his arm to get a better look at the performance and Tom appeared teary eyed.
The praise from viewers over Tom’s pitch-perfect voice come as the singing legend revealed he has started sleeping with tape over his mouth to protect his voice.

‘Now I’m older I don’t have to look good in bed. But sometimes I get up to go to the toilet and give myself a shock.’
The Voice coach, also took a swipe at the Britain’s Got Talent judge’s approach to contestants and told MailOnline: ‘Well those kinds of talent shows take it too far. Simon Cowell has done that.
‘You know, by saying, “Why are you on this show? What makes you think you can sing? Who told you you can sing”. I mean… Jesus.
‘The difference between The Voice and other talent shows is, they can sing. They’ve got rid of those who can’t sing before the first auditions.’

Tom also revealed that his close friend Olly Murs was ‘really bothered’ to no longer be on the show after he was axed after six years.
At the time, Olly revealed his departure wasn’t amicable as it was thought the decision came from producers wanting to attract younger audiences by signing new judges.
Tom said: ‘We’ve both been on the road, but when it happened we talked quite a bit. He didn’t want to leave, he loved doing the show.
‘It really bothered him, he didn’t like it. He’s married now and has a kid, so his life has changed. But it definitely bothered him.’
