Social media star GK Barry is set to enter the Australian jungle this year as part of I’m A Celebrity.Get Me Out Of Here, following a chat with hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

However, during a previous Instagram live chat with fans and the Geordie pair, she revealed she would only agree to take part in this year’s show if “pound signs” were on the table. The 25 year old star, whose real name is Grace Keeling, is the host of the podcast Saving Grace.

After fans begged her to take part in the ITV show, she told the presenting duo: “Listen, if there’s pound signs involved – absolutely!” Amid the announcement of her landing the coveted ITV show, Grace has faced backlash after she interviewed OnlyFans and adult content creator, Bonnie Blue.

Fans criticised the podcast interview for making “harmful” comments. Bonnie is famed for sleeping with a host of university students during Fresher’s Week and for also glorifying sleeping with a father and son at the same time. Since she was flooded by negative comments, Grace and her team deleted the promotional clips of the interview ahead of her stint on the show. According to The Sun, ITV bosses now have concerns.

A source told the publication: “I’m A Celeb is a family show and they can’t have anyone on there who agrees with sleeping with barely 18 years olds. The top brass have held crisis talks as to how they handle the backlash with GK enters the show.”

The source added: “The backlash is already huge on YouTube and social media this is an absolute PR nightmare for ITV. They rely on advertisers wanting to spend money on the show and it’s not a good look when one of the campmates has had someone so controversial on her podcast and agreed with everything she said.”

Fans continue to comment and expressed concern over her interview as her 3.6million TikTok followers are of a younger demographic, which is reportedly under 20. One person wrote: “Her audience is 13-20 year old girls. Young and impressionable. This is not the message young girls should be hearing. We need to start de-platforming.” Another person said: “GK Barry having bonnie blue on her pod and AGREEING with the harmful s*** she was saying is beyond disappointing. Do better babe.”

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror ahead of entering the jungle later this month, Grace said: “I hate bugs. I hate sleeping outside. I’ve never done it. And so I think that would be a lot. But I feel like it would also probably be good viewing for other people.” Grace will be joining Coleen Rooney, former Strictly star Oti Mabuse, former boxing champion Barry McQuigan and Tulisa. Love Island star Maura Higgins is also rumoured to be joining the show.
