EastEnders spoilers for January and the aftermath of the New Year episodes hint at one family struggling after ‘dramatic’ events, but three characters are not shown in the images

There’s some major hints regarding the fates of the Panesar family on EastEnders following a huge set of episodes this week.

Soap boss Chris Clenshaw said his “heart was in his mouth” when he previewed Suki Panesar and Eve Unwin’s New Year wedding ahead of it airing this week. Viewers know that the big day is at risk, as Suki’s ex Nish Panesar is on the loose.

He felt betrayed over ex-wife Suki’s plans to marry Eve, and is determined to stop the wedding, whatever it takes. Nish vowed to “go nuclear” as he shared his plan to stop Suki and Eve marrying.

There’s now fears for Suki, Eve and their family knowing Nish’s k!ller past and how far he could go. Having tried to k!ll his own sons, Suki and Eve in the past, his escape from prison in a recent episode has certainly sparked fear in Walford.

With Nish planning on destroying the couple’s happiness and stopping their big day, fans are fearing the worst and that someone might die. With Nish also tipped to leave in the episodes as it’s his “final revenge”, it could pave the way for some very explosive scenes.

Soap boss Chris called them “dramatic” while giving nothing away, while other hints have teased the episodes are huge, described as “a monster of a block”, with cast members also stunned by the details.

Now, spoilers for January have revealed hints at the aftermath of whatever happens, teasing upsetting scenes ahead. No one is named in the spoilers, but they say the Panesar family struggle to come to terms with what has happened.

They don’t detail what exactly has gone down, but they do imply something massive and life-altering has taken place at the wedding. New developments soon come to light too which continue to shock the family who are already reeling.

As the week goes on, the family tries to come together and navigate life after the shocking events of New Year. It seems something devastating, jaw-dropping and explosive has occurred for it to impact the family so much.

What could be a hint is a spoiler image released by the BBC soap. Members of the family are sat together in their home looking pretty sombre, clearly affected by what has happened in the days previous.

In the picture is Avani, Priya, Vinny, Ravi and Nugget. Nugget looks guilty and upset, possibly linked to the fact he’d been helping his grandfather Nish. Avani also looks down and concerned for her father Ravi, who is clearly numb over events by the look on his face.

The big question is where are Suki and Eve? They do not feature in the picture at all so perhaps they’ve taken some time away from Walford after their wedding. But would they not be with their family after such a “shocking” event? Nish is also missing – so has he finally gone for good?
