Vanessa Feltz has revealed that she and her newly-single pal Ruth Langsford ‘can’t be bothered’ to find a new man, after the This Morning star split from her husband Eamonn Holmes earlier this year.

The broadcaster, 62, offered insight into her friendship with Ruth in an interview with MailOnline, admitting that they ‘leave men out of it’ when they go on a night out together.

Vanessa, who split from her partner Ben Ofoedu last year, was asked if Ruth was her new ‘wing woman’ after she attended her brook launch.

She said: ‘I don’t know if either of us can be bothered. We’d probably rather go out together and have a laugh and leave men out of it.’

Asked whether she has any plans to get back into dating, Vanessa said: ‘Oh mate, God’s sake, I don’t know. I’m trying my best, just put it that way. I’ve dip-toed in the field and we’ll see what happens.’

Speaking ahead of the release of her new autobiography Vanessa Bares All, the LBC star admitted that even she was ‘shocked’ by some details about her life that she opted to include in the book.

‘I think writing your autobiography is the most peculiar thing, because you are totally focusing on yourself, as if you’re this really fascinating creature, which of course I am – certainly to myself. It’s no holds barred – even I’m shocked and I wrote it,’ she said.

‘I think it rakes up all the things that you tried to move away from – some of them you feel better once you’ve written about them, some of them you feel a bit worse, some of them you have a good laugh, and some of them you remember adventures that you haven’t thought about for ages, that’s probably shaped you. It’s quite an interesting thing to do – I’d recommend it really.’

In May it emerged Eamonn and Ruth had split after 14 years of marriage and would divorce.

Cracks had started to appear in their relationship and they had not been photographed together for two years.

The TV star has been dating counsellor Katie Alexander, 42, since his split from Ruth and has been open about his new partner.

Eamonn proved he was very much enjoying his new romance after the pair jetted off for a luxury holiday together over the summer.

The presenter and his new girlfriend first exchanged flirty messages on social media in 2012 according The Sun.

The TV host and relationship therapist were both married at the time and the messages initially included her then husband George.

Katie’s former partner joked he believed his wife was ‘flirting’ with Eamonn, but with both men sharing a love for Manchester United, quipped: ‘Good job we’re both Red.’

A source told the publication: ‘We knew Eamonn and Katie got together via social media, but no one knew how far back they went.

‘Ruth will be shocked they were in contact 12 years ago. I don’t think she would have known.’

It comes after Ruth spoke candidly about heartbreak amid her divorce with Woman & Home in which she revealed heartbreak was her biggest fear, but not for her, instead fearing her son Jack, 22, would have his heart broken.

When asked what she ‘wants most in life’, Ruth confessed: ‘Happiness. Happiness for my son, Jack.

‘When you have children, you look at them starting out in life and just want everything to be good for them, for them to be happy and to not have their hearts broken.

‘You can’t guarantee any of that, but that’s what I want most for Jack.’

Ruth shares Jack with Eamonn and she is also stepmother to his children Declan, 35, Rebecca, 32, and Niall, 30, from his first marriage to ex-wife Gabrielle.
