Loose Women star Denise Welch made a bombshell allegation about a major Royal Family member on the ITV show.

The panel were discussing the release of Amazon Prime drama A Very Royal Scandal, which focuses on Prince Andrew’s explosive BBC Newsnight interview about his dealings with Jeffrey Epstein. Starring Michael Sheen as the prince, it’s set to be a big hit for the streaming site.

Denise was keen to share her own encounter with Andrew, claiming that when she met him he was a “narcissist”, and claimed he was “disrespectful about Princess Diana”. Her co-star Linda Robson had a similar encounter, calling the prince “arrogant” when she came into contact with him.

The panellists were keen to address Andrew’s rumoured “watch party” when the new miniseries releases, unable to comprehend that he is reportedly inviting pals to his abode to watch the drama.

Denise said: “We have heard rumour that Prince Andrew is having a viewing party with his pals. Now you would think, ‘Why would you want to be seen going through that?’ But in my personal experience of the odd time I’ve met him, he is a narcissist.

“So it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he was going to have his friends round and celebrate what was an absolute disaster!”

Linda Robson then chimed in: “I’ve met him a couple of times at events that I’ve been to, and he comes across as quite an arrogant man. I don’t know if you remember – he was walking around Buckingham Palace grounds and two policemen stopped him, and he was quite rude to them.

“He said, ‘Don’t you know who I am?’ So I think he’s let the Royals down, he really really has. So I won’t be watching.”

Ruth Wilson will be playing BBC journalist Emily Maitlis in the drama across from Michael Sheen. It follows on from the documentary Andrew: The Problem Prince, a series released last year looking behind the scenes of the infamous 2019 interview.

The interview has already been dramatised once before in Netflix’s Scoop movie – but there are reportedly some very big differences. Scoop saw Rufus Sewell play Andrew, while Gillian Anderson stepped in to play Emily Maitlis. Billie Piper also joined the cast.

According to The Independent, A Very Royal Scandal has the most dramatic licence – showing Andrew at a hunting party with friends and being asked if he’s guilty by Fergie – played by Claire Rushbrook.
