After viewers noticed I’m A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin “loosing his cool” with Dean McCullough and GK Barry on Wednesday, the star addressed his reaction.

Ant and co-host Dec Donnelly were visibly frustrated over the campmates’ attempt at the latest Bushtucker Trial, a day on from Dean quitting minutes in. Dean was up for the next task with GK Barry, real name Grace, where they were placed in water tanks.

They were joined by snakes and eels and the tanks slowly filled with water, with Dean having to secure some keys and get them down to Grace. GK then had to unlock the padlocks at the bottom, but as time went on the pair failed to get any stars.

Ant and Dec were shown urging the pair to hurry up and get at least one star, and every time a key was dropped or a lock failed they shouted out. Ant looked unimpressed, and fans quickly noticed him pulling faces at the stars.

They said he had “lost his cool” and looked “angry”, clearly frustrated with the pair. Speaking on spin-off series Unpacked, Ant was asked about his reaction to the stars during the trial.

He then made his feelings pretty clear not denying that he was annoyed, before explaining what it was that left him so infuriated. He called out stars for wasting time during trials, bothered when they “don’t even try” before screaming and flapping around in fear.

Ant explained to host Joel Dommett, after Dec joked about his angry reaction to the pair: “If you can’t do it then you can’t do it, but just get on with it! Try it, just try it. There was a lot of not trying for several minutes.”

He or Sam Thompson added later: “You’re screaming at water!” Ant then said: “And then when they finally tried they ran out of time,” before pulling a face as Dec laughed at him.

Topic then moved on to the next trial, with Sam later saying Ant was “over it” with people doing rubbish in trials. Dean is up for the next task, and Ant said: “Of course he can do it, he can do it,” Dec wasn’t so sure though saying: “It’s whether he will do it…”

Fans were quick to comment on what went on with Ant during the trial, with many posting about his “disappointment” and him “losing his cool”. Taking to X, one fan posted: “Ant is fuming! They’re wasting everyone’s time and money.”

Another said: “Ant and Dec losing their cool and being savage with the contestants never gets old.” A third added: “My fave part of I’m a celeb is when Ant and Dec are clearly getting p***ed off at whoever is doing the bush tucker trials because they’re being ridiculous,” as a fourth wrote: “Ant looks like a disappointed teacher waiting for his class to stop talking.”
