RUTH Langsford has appeared to confirm that she is keeping up with all things to do with her ex Eamonn Holmes in a new cryptic post.

The Loose Women star was revealed to have split from her long-term partner earlier this year and has so far stayed virtually silent on the matter since.

It is understood that Ruth decided to split from Eamonn, 64, after being left devastated when she found messages to another woman on his computer.

But in a brand new Instagram post, Ruth, 64, appeared to alert her followers that she is keeping a beady eye on her ex and his surprising new romance with 42-year-old Katie Alexander.

Taking to her stories, she uploaded a shot of her day’s brunch as today’s edition of The Sun on Sunday was conveniently placed in full view next to her meal.

Ruth featured on the front cover of today’s edition of the paper after Katie Alexander’s ex spoke out in support of the star and to express his sympathy towards her in today’s The Sun on Sunday.

It made a clear gesture to her fans that she was keeping very much up to date on her divorce woes with Eamonn as well as to read exactly what Katie’s ex had to say about the romance.

In the exclusive interview, George Alexander confessed he had “a lot of sympathy” for Ruth amid her marriage breakdown.

George, 53, who was married to Katie from 2010 to 2022, said: “I have a lot of sympathy for Ruth.

“I have had my heart broken when my marriage to Katie ended.

“It took me a couple of years to recover. I know how distraught Ruth must be feeling. She’s going through what I did after our marriage ended.”

And he added: “Katie has a heart so will feel bad about Ruth.”

Businessman George said Katie and Eamonn first made contact as friends on social media while they were still married.

He went on: “She was not swooning over him like he was George Clooney.

“She’d commented on one of his posts (on social media) and Eamonn got in touch. I must admit I laughed it off.”

There is no suggestion from George that Katie’s contact with Eamonn led to the breakdown of their marriage, and he accepts they parted amicably.

But after their divorce in 2022 he became aware relationship therapist Katie and Eamonn were meeting up.

He said: “I was surprised by it. Katie would go and visit him. It was a regular pattern.”

The Sun on Sunday revealed in June Katie and Eamonn had been on outings together, including to a Beyonce concert and a safari park, and she was later seen visiting the presenter at his home in Surrey.

Eamonn had also showered her with gifts.

1997-2002 – To be respectful to Gabrielle, the couple kept their relationship out of the limelight. Ruth told Daily Mail: “I thought it spoke volumes about the sort of man he was, the sort of father he was and the integrity he had. It made me love him more, not less.”

2002 – Ruth and Eamonn welcome their son, Jack, to the family.

2005 – Eamonn finalises his divorce with Gabrielle.

2006 – The pair begin to host Friday episodes of This Morning together.

2010 – Eamonn proposes to Ruth while at the Cheltenham Races, after asking Ruth’s mother for her hand.

June 2010 – Eamonn and Ruth marry at Elvetham Hall, Hampshire.

2016 – Eamonn undergoes a double hip replacement in the first of many health battles.

November 2020 – Ruth and Eamonn are replaced on their regular Friday slot by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in a ‘show shake-up’.

December 2021 – After a year of being moved to the bank holiday presenting slot, both Eamonn and Ruth left This Morning.

January 2022 – Eamonn debuted on GB News, while Ruth stayed with ITV in her long-standing role on Loose Women.

September 2022 – Eamonn undergoes spinal surgery after years of back issues including a trapped sciatic nerve.

November 2022 – Eamonn falls down the stairs of his Surrey home with Ruth and breaks his shoulder, requiring a new operation.

September 2023 – Eamonn has a spine and neck stretching procedure as part of his year-long recovery.

May 2024 – Ruth and Eamonn announce they have split after 14 years of marriage and a 27-year relationship.

Some had speculated Eamonn’s crippling health problems with his back had been a factor in their marriage breakdown but sources later told of Ruth’s devastation at finding the messages between her husband and another woman.

It emerged that Katie, who is from West Yorkshire, has been recently driving to Eamonn’s new home in Surrey and spending time with him.

Last week, Ruth was seen still wearing her wedding ring after Katie was pictured with a sparkler, leading to false speculation she had got engaged to Eamonn.

Ruth and Eamonn first met in 1997 and she gave birth to their son, Jack, in 2002.

He has three children from his first marriage.
