Ant and Dec were spotted filming a mystery TV project in London on Thursday, six months after Saturday Takeaway was axed after 22-years.

The Geordie duo, both 48, wrapped up warm in stylish jackets on set and chatted with the crew between takes.

While little is known about the show, earlier this year it was reported the pair were working on a replacement for the long running Saturday Night Takeaway.

Ant wore a grey cropped jacket and jeans for the shoot and appeared in high spirits as he flashed a cheeky grin.

Meanwhile Dec sported a trendy brown suede jacket, which he teamed with dark trousers and a pair of comfy trainers.

In May The Mirror reported the presenting duo trademarked the name Belta Box for the secret project in a nod to their home town Newcastle – Belta means excellent in the North East.

The new trademark was lodged by their production company Mitre Studios an covers TV, radio, online and podcast shows and merchandise too, so Ant and Dec can make the most of the show’s popularity.

A source told the publication : ‘Everything Ant and Dec does turns to gold and this is sure to be another success.’

Mitre Studios also owns trademarks for Ant and Dec’s ITV game show Limitless Win and online show Taste Mates.

The firm said: ‘Taste Mates and Belta Box are digital projects that will tap into the Mitre core values of being fun and engaging.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for comment.

Ant and Dec brought an end to the beloved Saturday Night Takeaway series after 22 years with a supersized two-hour special in April, featuring a bumper lineup that included Amanda Holden, Holly Willoughby, S Club 7 and Girls Aloud.

They admitted leaving the iconic show was far from an easy decision, as they discussed their emotional farewell during an appearance on This Morning.

Chatting to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on the final extravaganza, the pair explained it felt like ‘the right time’ to leave the iconic show ‘on a high’.

Praising its 22 years of broadcasting, Dec said: ‘When we first came to the decision to rest it – and we did it because 20 series feels like a good time to do it – we told our management first.

‘We said, ‘We want to rest it but we reserve the right between now and then to change our minds several times,’ and we have. But I think we know in our heart of hearts it’s the right thing to do.’

Ant agreed echoing: ‘For the show and for us personally, it’s the right thing at the right time.’

The pair will continue their exclusive working relationship with ITV, hosting hit shows including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent and Limitless Win, all of which air across ITV1 and ITVX.
