Eamonn Holmes and new girlfriend’s REAL relationship revealed by restaurant worker

A restaurant worker in Northern Ireland has shed light on Eamonn Holmes’ new relationship with Katie Alexander following his shock marriage split from Ruth Langsford earlier this year.

Former This Morning star Eamonn, 66, recently took a trip to Carrickfergus with Katie – who is 22 years his junior – as the pair took in the sights of Eamonn’s home country. Whilst there, the couple dined at budget restaurant, Papa Browns, for four days in a row.

A staff member who served Eamonn and Katie at the American-style diner has now opened up about their relationship, admitting that Eamonn seemed to be happy and cheerful alongside his new girlfriend. The staff member said: “He came in four days in a row. I noticed his girlfriend had an English accent. They looked happy.

“He appeared quite frail and it took a minute to recognise him, but he was always very polite and friendly. Both of them appeared at ease with being seen together. Eamonn really enjoyed it,” they told The Sun.

Eamonn’s relationship with Katie was exposed in May after he left the family home as messages were found between him and another woman. At the time, he had moved into another property and Katie was regularly seen visiting him, following his split with Ruth after 14 years of marriage. Eamonn and Katie first met in 2015 when her comment on a social media post generated a conversation between the pair.

In May a joint statement was released announcing that Ruth and Eamonn had called time on their marriage. It said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” The pair had not been seen together or appearing on each other’s social media for a while before their statement was released, which sparked concern.

A source told The Sun: “They are determined to stay friends and keep things amicable.” The source also said that their busy schedules was a contributing factor in their split.

Ahead of their announcement, Ruth had spoken about Eamonn’s serious health issues in an interview with Woman’s Weekly. She said: “I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope. He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100% right. With any care situation – and there are millions of carers in this country – it isn’t always easy. It’s testing but we manage as a family.”

When Ruth had found messages between Eamonn and Katie, it was claimed that Ruth was shocked over the discovery. A source told The Sun: “Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages. She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated. Not only was she very upset but she was also angry.” Eamonn had even treated Katie to a Beyoncé concert, a Center Parcs visit and tickets to see his football team Manchester United at Old Trafford.
