Once one of television’s golden couples, Eamonn and Ruth were the Friday faces of This Morning for 15 years, with their mischievous banter and occasional squabbling regularly giving viewers a chuckle. Fans were devastated when, in May 2024, the daytime icons announced they would be parting ways.

Now Eamonn has sailed off on a luxury cruise holiday with relationship counsellor Katie who, at 42, is more than 20 years his junior, and has been showing his new love interest plenty of affection.

In one cheeky snap, Eamonn, 64, can be seen grabbing Katie’s bottom from his wheelchair while making a stop in sunny Ibiza. Clad in cream chinos and a navy blazer, Eamonn could be seen with his hand on Katie’s back – and backside – as they walked ashore.

For Ruth, also 64, this flirty gesture may well bring to mind happier times in their marriage, and one particularly memorable episode of This Morning…

Back in 2018, when Eamonn and Ruth were still very much a professional and romantic duo, viewers were in for a daytime surprise after Eamonn appeared to touch his wife’s behind – much to her shock.

While Ruth was announcing what was coming up on the show that morning, Eamonn could be seen resting his hand on the counter right behind her. Jumping from the apparent unexpected touch, Ruth exclaimed: “Did you just touch my bottom? I think you did!”

Protesting that he hadn’t meant to, Eamonn insisted he’d just been ‘leaning’ – much to the amusement of viewers and Ruth. Laughing, Ruth replied: “It’s very nice, I’m just wondering what you’re doing!”

While Eamonn and Katie enjoyed their trip at sea, Ruth has been busy taking part in a charity walk for mum Joan, 93, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and is in a care home. She also enjoyed a tasty takeaway over the weekend with her 22-year-old son, Jack Holmes.

Sharing pics of their feast via Instagram, Ruth wrote: “So my son ordered my takeaway, so it was here when I got home. Love him for that. So I’ve gone for curry, chicken bhuna, it’s my fave because I like curry with loads of sauce. Which rice, do you think? Just plain, I like really plain rice. And then in here my favourite side dish, saag aloo, spinach and potatoes. And then you’ve got to have poppadoms.”
