Eamonn Holmes has been blasted by fans after he was spotted singing “inappropriate” song lyrics with celebrity pal Jo O’Meara. The 64-year-old sat next to the S Club 7 popstar after they teamed up for a promotional Christmas video.

The GB News host appeared in high spirits as the pair belted out Blue Christmas while sitting on a festive set. In 1964 Elvis Presley famously recorded the iconic hit which has become a festive staple.

It is a doleful tune which tells a tale of unrequited love during the holidays. However, some fans took a swipe at the former This Morning host and felt it was insensitive to ex-wife and Loose Women star Ruth Langsford.

He took the time to upload the clip to social media and shared it with his 800,000 Instagram followers. Interrupting Jo, 45, as she explained the fundraiser he was heard singing the chorus: “It will be a blue blue Christmas without you.”

Leaping to the comments section, one user wrote: “Maybe he’s trying to say something, it will be a blue Christmas without Ruth.” While another said: “That’s a bit weird.” A third chimed in and penned: “Very inappropriate song very hurtful have some respect.”

This comes just days after the TV presenter, 64, returned from a sunny European getaway with his new girlfriend who is 20 years his junior.

Eamon is dating Katie Alexander, 42, who is a relationship counsellor. The duo headed off to Spain and boarded a luxury cruise ship and hopped around the country docking in places like Barcelona and Ibiza.

The Irish-born broadcaster has not been shy in showing off his attractive new girlfriend as it was reported that earlier this summer, he took her back to his hometown on a short break away.

Eamon looked smitten after packing on the PDA and recently touring the streets of Spain with Katie while stopping with fans who asked for a selfie.

Despite being confined to a mobility scooter, he beamed from ear to ear as his glamorous blonde bombshell beau carried their belongings.
