Boxing is not for everyone. Some people believe that due to an athlete’s prowess in another combat sport, usually MMA, they will be successful in boxing, but that isn’t always the case. However, Idris Abdurashidov found this out the hard way.

Abdurashidov went into his boxing debut as an undefeated MMA fighter, and his record stood at 4-0 before he hopped into the ring to face off against boxer Bagher Faraji in Thailand on Sunday Night, leading to quitting the controversy.

Abdurashidov, who is from Russia, was losing the fight horribly. After getting frustrated by his evident lack of success, he threw a head kick at the unsuspecting Faraji, who was knocked out immediately.

The MMA professional took to social media to post a video of himself kicking the boxer in the head during the bout and celebrating the moment afterward. Fans were not happy with the move, and according to many, he could face a lifelong ban from the sport.

Obviously, Faraji’s team quickly hopped into action after seeing Abdurashidov’s horrendous move. It wasn’t just Faraji’s team that jumped into action, though, as social media erupted after Happy Punch posted a video of the moment to X.

“Nah that ain’t right, ban bro from boxing for good,” went one fan, and it seemed to be the consensus in the comments. The kick was horribly dangerous and has brought many fans in alignment.

MMA Breakdownz also commented on the repost of the video, claiming that the 21-year-old Russian should not only be banned from any combat sport for life but should also be arrested for assault and battery as a result of the soulless move.

While he may not face legal charges for his actions on Sunday night, Abdurashidov has lost essentially all respect in the combat sports community, and odds are he will never get that respect back from fans.
